What do you think is reasonable to ask for then. They've already told me they'd give me compensation. I don't know what is, hence me asking.

This was answered in post #3. £50 seems more than reasonable given the circumstances.

I am with most on here.IMO no compenstaion is due, maybe a credit note, enough for a couple of pillows .

the delay from the 25th Oct to the 2nd Nov is your choice.

I ordered a bed back in Dec was told it was going to be X weeks (about 10 I think) but it was a a few weeks over that. Not once did I think...Compo!

I'd imagine they will offer something between £25 and £50.

It's a bit annoying that it's been so long - but nothing more. You could have cancelled the order and re-ordered from somewhere else if the delivery date was crucial (eg if you didn't have anywhere to sleep). But you did decline the bed on its own, and I think £25 - £50 would be reasonable for you having to rearrange the room on two occasions for the two deliveries.

25% is ludicrous. For a benchmark: I got less than that when I ordered a sofa, they confirmed delivery date, I got rid of my old sofa the day before and the retailer (admittedly not Bensons) rearranged the delivery on the confirmed date for two weeks later. In that instance, I was entirely happy with £50 cash £50 vouchers (on a £1,000 sofa) - and I had gone out and bought camping chairs so had actually incurred a cost as well as the inconvenience.
  • £1400 for a kids bed?? (I am assuming its a child)
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

How about nothing? I'm obviously out of touch with the grasping economy!

You could have had the bed on the original date. It not that big a deal to attach a headboard afterwards.

Headboards dont usually need "assembling" They usually just slot down the head of the bed. Also, lack of a headboard doesn't prevent the bed being used, i too think you're being ridiculous asking for 25%. Did you mean to type £25 ?
