UKPC Parking Ticket

Hi,
I'm new to the forums so if I word something incorrectly you'll have to forgive me.
Going to be totally honest so you know the scenario. Basically, the driver parked his car in a shopping complex which has plenty of signs saying 3 hour max and only park when shopping on site etc. Upon parking, the driver was due to meet a work colleague as they were doing a presentation together and needed to work on their computers to create said presentation. He is from Halifax and struggled to find the place. The driver told him to park up the road and would walk to meet him and then he could drive them both, under guidance to the shopping complex. This was fine and they both parked up in the complex after they'd met. The driver then went for a coffee and two hours later, returns to his car to find a parking PCN stuck to his windscreen. Reason for the ticket is 'owner left site'.
Now the driver did leave the site, but only because his friend couldn't find the place and was helping him out. The driver returned straight after locating him which was ten minutes later.
Is there anything the keeper could do to avoid this fine as the driver was using the coffee shop on site (Costa). The driver doesn't have receipts.

Everywhere you have used the word keeper you need to change it to the word driver.
It was the driver who parked. It was the driver who was due to meet a work colleague. It was the driver who went for a coffee. Etc, etc.
The bulk of your post should perhaps look something like:Going to be totally honest so you know the scenario. The keeper should send the blue text appeal found in post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.
Send it unchanged.

Thanks Keith, all sorted.
Regarding the car, it's a company car so is on lease. Does this change anything you have advised as a course of action?0 -
Not sure about the wording of the below either...
THE NAME AND POSTAL ADDRESS OF THE KEEPER (OR THE HIRER/LESSEE) GOES HERE. THE DRIVER IS NOT IDENTIFIED.
DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME HERE INSTEAD, IF YOU ARE NOT THE KEEPER/HIRER/LESSEE. YOU ARE NOT HELPING IF YOU DO THIS WRONG BY APPEALING IN THE WRONG NAME!
Whose name goes and address goes on the form?0 -

Yes it does.
Instead you need to read the section of post #1 of the NEWBIES thread starting:COMPANY, LEASE OR HIRE CARS ANYWHERE IN THE UK0 -
also, DO NOT USE THE F WORD AGAIN
its not a "fine" and you must NEVER refer to it as a "fine"
its a Parking Charge Notice , a PCN, which is 1 letter shorter than your incorrect legal word
its an INVOICE, nothing more
its a major mistake to refer to it as a "FINE" because some contracts have specific wordings about FINES and PENALTIES, this is neither
so read the EDNA BASHER advice at the bottom of post #10
