Hello,
This is even more awkward as a friends husband installed our carpet but has messed it up and now we are looking for some advice.
We ordered dark grey luxury quality carpet from a sample and when it was installed we noticed it looked a tad different to what we ordered. It was not until closer inspection that we noticed we had only had the dark grey fitted in one room, and the rest of the upstairs was a different carpet.
Fitter came back and agreed straight away that it was a mistake and that they would get in touch with the supplier. We accepted that and told him we would be patient as long as we get the carpet changed for what we ordered.
The fitter is now saying the supplier is refusing to change it (he hasnt even been to take a look) and that are needing to get someone in to have a look at the carpet. We have a feeling they are trying to say that it isnt different when it quite clearly is.
Where do we stand if this is the case and they say they now wont change it.
Its not really our issue what the supplier says? They installed the wrong carpet and so should change it and argue with them later?

Did you purchase the carpet supply and fit or did you arrange fitting yourself?0

Is it really a different carpet, or has it been fitted with the pile running a different way so that it "looks" different?0

The fitter got the carpet from the supplier based on the sample we chose. we had no contact with the supplier. They did advise that they may look different based on length of role and the way the pile runs but on inspection took one look and agreed the carpets are not the same.0 -

The carpet fitter ??
The fitter supplied the carpet and fitted. He came back and took a look at our issue and agreed (2 men came back) that they were not the same carpet. He also advised when we raised the issue that he noticed the carpet looked different but thought it was due to the 2 carpets being 2 different roles and possibly being a slight different shade but then looked and agreed the carpet is different. He advised it was not his fault and it was given to him by the supplier and then came back and said the supplier is not accepting that and wont change it.0 -
Does your fitter have invoices for the carpets......are thry described as the same?0

Any comeback is against the vendor in this case the carpet fitter . You have no claim against the supplier nor should you be dealing with them .
Your claim is against the vendor and they should be dealing with the supplier .
But in OP you are saying the supplier installed the wrong carpet .But the actual text and follow up is saying the carpet fitter supplied the carpet .
Who did you actually pay for the carpet ??They are the vendor/ supplier .0
