Cheap Windows 10 License Keys

Swiftly followed by the "im so awesome and legit - check me out" brigade1

It was never going to be long before the "I don't want to pay for this so I'll steal it instead" brigade crawled out of the woodwork.
Just because you pay £120, possibly for the same key also does not mean it is legal... or illegal. there is no way for us common folk to to tell, except for a few that have a perceived value of seeing things too cheap must be bad.
Films are different, they have no validation scheme, but these keys do. MS see them as valid and support them, then who an I to call them mis-informed and deem they are telling lies?
Same as an MOT, if I get a cheap one I do not think it is crooked, and I should have another one done spend extra for a more expensive one. Soon as I go online it becomes obvious if the MOT is valid or not. Same difference with Licence keys.0 -
So you can install Windows 10 without a product key and it will work ok (updates and defender)?0

Microsoft are more interested in market domination than stopping people using Windows cheaply. Most people buy PC s from large suppliers like Dell. Microsoft will make their profits there. People who make their own PCs are the type who could quite happily use Linux. If you make your own PC and Windows 10 is available for less than £5 then you might as well use that. Microsoft would stop the sale of cheap keys if they wanted to.0

Yes

So all of those bleating about cheap keys being illegal and that you should pay £120 or be damned, have missed the point entirely.
Can you imagine paying £120 for Windows 10 Home and then the very first feature update(which you cannot avoid) deletes your important data?
Windows 10 Home users are simply another line of testers.
Which is why every single upgrade path that has been opened since the launch, still exists and that it gives you full function even without a key.
So I see no reason to ever run Windows 10 Home, other than the fact that you cannot be bothered to install Pro cleanly.
Perhaps mroshaw can request a refund....1 -
I disagree. You can download thousands of movies online free of charge (let's say torrent) and, you know what, they work! Same applies to websites that stream live football matches. You connect to them and watch the match free of charge. Why should I think it's illegal, since Sky or BT Sport haven't shut down the website?
Does this make them 'legal'? No it doesn't.
You wouldn't say the same thing if you found those Windows keys on Google, free of charge, would you? I think you would be suspicious about the origin of those keys? So, what does it make it 'legal'? 'Free from a Google search' vs £120 license is not legal, but a license paid £2 is?
As I said earlier, I'm not judging here, I'm only saying that the fact that it activates, doesn't make it legal. You can take an OEM key from a Dell computer, for example, and use it in your home computer, it works, but it's not legal under Microsoft terms.
Then we can discuss about Microsoft's policy, about how expensive their products are, but that's another thing.
you are totally missing the point that microsoft are activly allowing this to happen"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson1 -
^^ This exactly ..
MS could easily stop it if they wanted to but the fact is they actually want everyone to be using W10.
Granted, they would prefer you pay for it - but as long as somebody has at one point in the keys life then they dont seem to care1 -
They don't care. Fact.
These keys are almost never keys that could be re-sold, even if they activate. Fact.
It's quite simple, what are you not getting?
They are not legit keys just because Microsoft doesn't care.
Don't try to make it look like you are being clever by paying £2 for a 'license' and all those people buying it from Microsoft total stupid.1 -
^^ get over yourself - who is saying they are legit ?
It's all quite simple, what are you not getting ?0
