Irony, I have finally decided to cast a vote for Sony Vaio G11XN/B, although, probably the cynical me will probably still prefer UX1Xn a tab bit :p Plus look out for the new machines Asus is planning to lauch the spec of which are mind blowing

They actually are two different animals mate, as this is an ultraportable laptop and HTC are more into smart phones and pocket PCs, besides I was under the impression discontinued making this model and that is why some resellers are able to offer such price discounts as in most cases they have been offered exclusive rights to its resale. The fact that Sony style still insists on selling it at twice the price as some other resellers is a fact that never fails to make me roll my eyes.

Well, "mate", I hate to break it to you but you're wrong! The HTC shift is a UMPC too - the first HTC product not to be a mobile phone! It's due out in about a week in the UK. The HTC shift is very much in competition with the ux1.

What shall I put here?

I bought the first UX model when it was launched in Japan end of 2006 - which had a slooooow and tiny 20Gb HDD. Lovely bit of kit but the battery life was the biggest problem but I dare say that is compensated a little now with the flashdrive model (16Gb version of which had been announced but not released in Japan at that time).

Still not good enough for every day use or as a laptop substitute - purely for those applications when you actually need a UMPC.
