Sony Vaio UX1XN - 500 pounds cheaper

Blind Ambition I would rather visit other review sites and forums before I make my final decision as these items are not bought on a daily basis
Personally I do not mind paying a bit more when I am assured that I will have proper service by sales while with customer servicesin case I have a problem0 -
I'm guessing these are coming down in price as the HTC Shift is due to start shipping within the next fortnight. Sony want to ship as many as possible before the Shift is avaliable, as once people see the shift, they'll never buy the sony ux!!
DavidWhat shall I put here?

Sony Vaio G11XN/BThey actually are two different animals mate, as this is an ultraportable laptop and HTC are more into smart phones and pocket PCs, besides I was under the impression discontinued making this model and that is why some resellers are able to offer such price discounts as in most cases they have been offered exclusive rights to its resale. The fact that Sony style still insists on selling it at twice the price as some other resellers is a fact that never fails to make me roll my eyes.0

laptopsdirect seem to have a high reputation. the 2% discount via quidco makes them a few pounds cheaperMoneysaving Expert do not reply to requests regarding deleting membership.

Blind_Ambition wrote: »Amalea, well for starters The Sony UX1XN is quite possibly one of the smallest laptops ever. it's barely bigger than a thick-ish paperback book, yet it packs a full Vista-touting PC inside its diddy dimension.
The Intel Core Solo U1500 processor, running at 1.33GHz, is nothing special and 1GB of DDR 2 memory is fairly standard. Where Sony has pulled out the stops, however, is with the hard drive. At first glance 32GB seems a bit measly, but this isn't any old 32GB model - it's a Flash drive. This has two advantages: it's faster than a standard drive and it's also more durable since there are no moving parts. While you should still treat UX1 carefully, it's going to be more resilient to the odd bump or two than a device with a traditional spinning hard drive.
Fair enough then. I jumped to conclusions a bit before reading fully-mainly cos I don't like Sony!
Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.0
