I always filter out men with boyfriends on those sites. In my experience gay dating sites are full of men with partners looking for sex outside the relationship which personally I've never understood. Surely if they are not getting it at home and are trawling the net looking elsewhere then they should just end the relationship if its descending to that level.
Anyway, just keep blocking the weirdos and try to filter out the wrong uns before agreeing to meet anyone. I've always made it clear I'm not interested in anyone with a boyfriend so don't bother contacting me if you have a partner.
It's hard because so many gay men use these sites just for sex but you will find some men among them who are looking for something a bit more meaningful. Most have been honest enough from the start, only had one who lied and waited until we were together a month before telling me he had a partner. Obviously he was an ex pretty fast.
Just use your head and be very choosy. I had to kiss a lot of frogs before I met my current partner online. They are out there if you persevere.0 -
Is there not a 'report' button? I'd just hit that if harassed.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0

No more risky than hooking up with someone you meet in a club ... or anywhere else
Well a club is a public place, usually with security onsite and at the very least you get to make a judgment call based upon more than text on a screen.
But I do agree in general against this kind of thing0 -

Unfortunately he was a bit fast of deleting his account, otherwise I would have reported him straight away.
Thank you everyone for all your responses. Dating apps as a whole are a waste of time so I've vowed not to join one again. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I'm lesbian and once met up with a woman during the day, at Winchester Cathedral I recall. Anyway, it turned out she was married, the guy was interested too but I politely declined to take it further. I did go back to their place for a meal and overnight stay with no more developments. Instinct and meeting physically when sober, not in a noisy night club, was the key, and no hard feelings on either side. Just the stately gavotte of manoeuvrings to achieve our aims.0

Well, I've never heard it called that before...0 -
I wouldn't say they are a waste of time altogether. Just make a new profile for a bit of fun and be more selective. You can usually tell where it's going when their opening gambit is to ask for a picture of your goolies. That's usually an instant ignore for me lol0
