Gay Dating App, Hornet

I didn't know wherelse to park this thread, so apologies if this is in the wrong category.
However, I joined Hornet today, which is a dating app for gay men like myself someone messaged me to 'hook-up' with them, so I thought 'Sure. Sounds good'. He asked me for a face picture before we met up. Strangely, he wanted me to put my finger on my cheek to further prove it was me behind the pictures.
Later on in the conversation he mentioned he had a boyfriend so I stopped for a minute, thinking something is not quite right, resulting in blocking him.
He then made another account saying: "You're messing with the wrong person" and "Wait and see". I felt quite threatened so I deleted the app altogether, but I've kept the screenshots.
Does it sound like empty threats to anybody because it's not like he knows where I live?

TBH, this whole story sounds bizarre to me.0 -

I didn't say you were.
I didn't say I didn't believe it, I said it sounded bizarre.
But then again, I've never been on a dating website, straight or gay.
If this guy doesn't know where you live and has no way of finding that information out, what can he do to you?0 -
Probably nothing. I'm just a big over thinker. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Certainly doesn't sound true.
But then I don't know anything about the app and how you 'match' with people etc.
What I will say, just as a general bit of advice - don't arrange 1 night trysts with strangers.0 -
How do you know that the 2nd account is him?0

I wouldn't use an app like this. Gay, straight or whatever. Call me boring but meeting a total stranger is so risky. They could be a murderer or could rape you, beat you up, film you and put it on the internet. Who knows!
If they want a quick hook up they should pay for it.
Better to meet someone in person or through an actual relationship type app. Whether the guy was serious or not it's a weird thing to say.0 -

No more risky than hooking up with someone you meet in a club ... or anywhere else0 -
