Busy morning yesterday, tidying and cleaning. Friends came for a light lunch as passing through our town, it was DOH's birthday, so nice to share with them. Chilled in the afternoon and then had a take away for supper. Got washing dry before it rained, which was unexpected as it had been a lovely sunny day.
Household chores and a bit of personal fabbing this morning, then visit Mother after lunch, I gather that she has started to ball rolling with Social Services with regard to residential care and has fully accepted the need. Dear SSon in the area tonight so out to supper and a catch up with him which will be lovely. He is a great chap and good company.
Best wishes to Holly, taff, the TA family and all who have illness or cares. Polly no judgement from me, take care of yourself as best you can.
Tru - I tried the Adaptil last year and it "took the edge off" our Collie's anxiety about the bangs, annoyingly I forgot to get another refill, but since I was able to use the last one for Halloween, fireworks and the New Year I might look into the Pet supermarket tomorrow or check on line. My friend who has a very nervous Westie who when stressed started chewing through electrical cables to lamps etc found it worked really well for them. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Thank you so much everyone. I am feeling a little better today so am going to a funeral ( friends Mum). At least the weather is gorgeous. Being driven so I can relax0
-
Poppy it sounds all wrong to say "enjoy the funeral", I guess what I mean is enjoy being driven out today and take in the nice weather and the Autumn colours if you get to see any.:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

Nelski GF show sounds brill, sorry about the roadworksSorry Holly is in pain too, please pass on my good wishes.
tru I dont think adaptil made any difference to Ly1a,but she's so big I think she needs something that would knock an elephant out! My cousin swears by tablets called Seren -um for her dog so am trying those this year. They do ones for extra large hounds so she's starting those today.
Love to TA
" " to those unwell.
We went to DH cousins 60th on Saturday, lovely to see his auntie who is now 95,and other cousins we've not seen for a good while. One of them was driving so gave us a lift home which was very good of him.
Half term here,I think DGD is coming tomorrow but DGS is going away for a few days with his mum & stepdad,I think they need a bit of a break after losing her DDad
DGD finished earlier on Friday and came with DS and I to pick DGS up, his little face lit up when he saw her waiting,it was lovely to see.
I've just realised I havent taken any meat out of the freezer for tea ,I'll have to have a rummage.I would have done corned beef hash but gave my last tin away with some others I donated for the DGC Harvest festivals.
Right better start on some housework now, well its more tidying than cleaning that is needed after the weekend.Hope you all have a good day x

Good afternoon all, it's a lovely day here, but cold. Never mind, the sun is shining.
Poppy, so glad that you are feeling a bit better today. I expect you have good days and not so good days.
Speky, hope all goes well for you, fingers crossed.
Tru, there are people setting fireworks off here as well - I like fireworks in organised displays, I wish they weren't so easily available.
I had an awful night last night, just could not sleep. In the end I gave up and got up at 3am, went back at 4.30. I finally slept, and got up at 7.30.
This morning I visited an elderly friend is as usual on a Monday, than when I got home I made salmon fishcakes and a pan of carrot and coriander soup.
There are the usual household jobs to do, but I might take it easy though.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of Holly, TA, Poppy and -Taff, plus anyone who is struggling with life.
Take care folks0 -
Hello, I've been doing the same as bellabella and have been cleaning out kitchen cupboards and that sort of thing. Not very interesting but it did need to be done. The spilling fairy had been in the herbs and spices cupboard.
Poppy, goid to hear that you feel a bit brighter today.
Thinking of all those who need a bit of support today.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Hello all
I had a bad night last night after a miserable "woe is me " day with Dad yesterday. He talking of going to D**n***s in Switzerland again. (I have no problem with that but I don't want to be involved.)
My mouth tasted awful this morning and then I realised I have chipped/broken one of my front teeth sometime during the night . Haven't a clue how that happened. I will ring my dentist later, but it's a bit annoying because I was only there 2 weeks ago for a check up.
We went to town this morning as I needed to get something for Dad's birthday on Wed. I had no idea what to buy as he says he doesn't want anything. We offered to take him away for a Mon to Fri break, or a restaurant meal but he refused both. I have ended up making him up a food hamper, mainly sweet stuff , but I will pop out tomorrow to get some fruit to go in it too.
After lunch I did a wash and hung it out on the whirly, as it's sunny and breezy. Had a senior moment as I put the WM on spin instead of a wash........I thought they were very dry when they came out !. The DW has been emptied and there's only the recycling to go out later. That's all for today as I feel washed out and my hip is giving me some gyp too.
Tea tonight will be leftover roast chicken and oven chips.
Poppy many hugs and I'm glad that you feel a little better today.
Holly I'm so sorry that you are in pain. I hope you can get some medication soon to ease it. Gentle hugs coming your way, my friend.
Ta and family you are still in my thoughts xx
Nelski samples eh ? That's my kind of weekend heaven. If you take JackieO could you swing round for my DD too, another one who likes the gin . Me, I'm happy with a cup of tea and cake, lots and lots of cake ( and chocolate :EasterBun) :rotfl::rotfl:
I shall send healing vibes to the poorly or worried and hugs to anyone who wants/needs one.
Take care all
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Good afternoon from a sunny, clear blue skies & chilly East London.
I am sending huge but gentle (((HUGS))) to all the poorlies, carers of poorlies & those struggling with RL.
The weekend was very sunny & quite warm for the time of year :T so DH & I took the opportunity to do lots of gardening & I also managed a couple of loads of washing (mostly line dried but finished off in td)
Today, due to leaking milk carton, I HAD to clean the fridge (I have only been meaning to do it for a month :rotfl: ) DH has done a bit more gardening & is now in the garage - prepping the garden furniture for winter storage :T
Need to go to sm but maybe I can wait until tomorrow
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible

Nelski !! Good food PLUS gin my kind of place
:) sounds brilliant
Hope Holly gets some pain relief ,possibly perhaps they will give her oramorph if suitable .Its darned uncomfortable as well as painful as I remember , but I was so glad to be rid of something that potentially could kill me.
Had a bit of a mishap this morning rushing around as usual ,tripped over my feet and went down like a sack of spuds, hurt my knees, right hand and dignity, bandage on my knee and thumb and dignity restored now at least . The boys have been looking after me very well with lots of tea and sympathy
Mikey made some delicious Millies cookies this afternoon which went down very well, and also some chocolate biscuits He really is a good little cook for a 14 year old.
DGS Henry has gone to play football with his chums and DGS Ben is in his room playing his guitar softly, as he is love lorn at the moment .
Autumn is settling in now and the leaves are really beautiful at the moment
Thursday we are driving up to Hertfordshire with DGS Jack's g/f Olivia as a surprise for him. We will probably take him a food parcel as well.
Hang in there Polly and try to keep fighting honey
Hope CHS and Mrs TA are coping OK
Take care chums and try to stay vertical:)
JackieO xx0
