New phone, broadband, tv provider for annexe

Hi
I want to set up a new separate system in an adjoining annexe to current home.
The plan is to sell the home and move into the annexe.
I have a new line into the annexe. Its not connected yet to the exchange.
Eventually annexe will have a new postcode and address - but for the moment it will retain the original address/ postcode of current home.
I was advised I need to do it this way because no provider will provide without a postal address.
I am currently with plusnet, no contract, with unlimited fibre broadband and phone (calls not inc) paying apx £33/m.
I also have Sky tv basic package - inc Sky1, Atlantic & some basic movies - no contract - for £23.50/m.
In essence want new phone, broadband - and maybe tv package - on the best rate possible in the annexe next door - under the same address as have now.
It may take 6m-1y before the new postal address is registered.
Is there a problem with actioning the above?
Is it better to have a different provider than plusnet and sky?
Helpful advice welcomed.

Well any house can have 2 lines.
So you maybe able to do it that way.0 -
Is the annex separate from the 'main' part of the property ?...if it is you may find that ordering a second line using the address of the main part of the dwelling, gets you a second line installed in the main part of the dwelling not the annex, if the annex is attached to the main part of the property , you may still have a problem as the new line may well have to connect to the main part of the property first , before being ran to the annex, and depending on distance the installer may refuse to install a cable over that distance ( I think there is a limit on what you get for a standard install fee)
If you provide yourself some sort of wired connection from the main property to the annex, and ask for the line to be provided to the main part then you connect it as an 'extension' to the annex , then although it may be OK while you own both, it may cause problems in the future , if the line to the annex went faulty, access to the main property could be needed and if you sell the main property the new owner may not grant access.
Obviously , order a line with the main property's postal address, that will be the installation and billing address and it would be very difficult to change in the future , not a problem with on line billing , but any marketing would have your name but go to what would then be your neighbour's property , and they may not be very happy getting mail with your name but their address.
Any fault you raise, would get the engineer knocking on your neighbour's door, and potentially being told 'our phone is fine, go away' and you get a charge for a failed or unnecessary appointment,( if they don't point the engineer in your direction)
You probably should get the annex correctly registered as a separate property , then when it appears on the Royal Mail web site, order service for the correct address0 -
It would make a lot more sense to register the new address first as OpenReach will treat your new line as a second line to the main property and when you do seperate the addresses you'll have to cancel your second line and reorder at the correct address. If that line is in contract when you do it that will attract early termination charges. It can get very messy and the chances of them disconnecting the wrong line or attaching services to the wrong one are very high doing it this way. (Part of my job is disentangling messes like this for one of the major providers)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I would have thought elec and gas were more pressing and required the address in place?0

Hi
I already have a new cable/line installed. That was put in by an engineer ages ago. It does not run under/ over the other house, land or walls. They are adjoining (like semis)
It is just not connected to the exchange - and that is really where my question lies - can I connect it using current address, even though it is my intention to sell that soon?? With online billing. With a new number. I would swap the number over when the address is registered,
(other utilities to be dealt with separately)0 -

You've already been answered on this question by @iniltous in post #3
You can't use the original address on the new build. If they've put in a new line already what's the problem?0
