PCN Received but paid

Hi All,
I'm hoping for some advice. I've tried searching but can't seem to find a similar scenario.
I have received a PCN from Northern Parking Services. On the PCN it states that they are a BPA approved operator.
THE PCN is addressed to me as the owner of the vehicle, but it was my wife who was using it and parked it at the time. There are photos of the car entering and leaving the car park and the company uses an ANPR system.
She paid to park, but unfortunately does not have evidence of doing so as paid in cash and has not retained a copy of the ticket. I can only assume that, either she entered the incorrect registration number, or their system has made an error of some sort.
Obviously, I wish to appeal against their demand fro £100 (or £60 if paid within 14 days), but am unsure as to whether I should:
A) use the standard BPA template
use the standard BPA template and tweak in some way to say that a payment was made
C) not use the standard template and appeal on the basis that payment was made to park
Thanks in advance for any advice, it will be appreciated

Use the standard appeal template from post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread as it is - no tweaking necessary.
Send it as the keeper.0 -
Thank you.
I know the standard template does mention the possibility of an incorrect registration number but just wanted to check that I was taking the correct form of action.0 -
Sorry, but one further question.
Northern Parking Services have advised to appeal through their website - when I enter the PCN reference number to do so , I receive an error saying "sorry, we cannot find this ticket".
Will ot be to my detriment if I email them my appeal instead?
Thanks again0 -

Thanks again. They only offer appeals via one of two routes:
via online submission via their website (does not work)
or via post to their appeals department.
The newbies thread suggest not to use royal mail, unless no other option. I am guessing that as email is not listed as a way to appeal then I had better go for the postal route.0 -
If you are going to use Royal Mail, do not use any signed for service. All that does is give the intended recipient the opportunity to refuse to sign and the all you have is proof of non-delivery.
Use standard First Class Post getting a free Certificate of Posting from the Post Office counter. The item is deemed delivered two working days after posting.0 -
Many Thanks for your help0
