    Hi everyone.
So my question is this....What are the best runabouts for between £2,000 to £2,500. Fiesta sized, 5 door, petrol with a manual gearbox.

    Maybe a Toyota Yaris?
  • I think I will probably suggest a Fabia, Ibiza, Fiesta or Yaris to her.

What she actually goes out and boys....I can see a Perodua or something....

I had a Fiesta, then a Fabia and currently a Hyundai i20. I'd be happy with any of them. This last is 9 years old and - touch wood - only one breakdown with a flat battery once which was easily rectified.

None were specifically chosen, they just came along when I needed a car and seemed reasonable buys.

Make sure it has rear brakes though...

With 2500,the options for a 16 plate are limited, if she is expecting a car of that age.
However if she is happy with a 11 or 13 plate car there are a few more options from what I can see on autotrader.co.uk. I believe Fiat Punto/ 500, Dacia Sandero, Nissan/ Suzuki Alto etc are cars that are worth having a look at. If you are looking for something a bit more older but with less mileage, then Japanese, Korean cars will make more sense as they tend to be more reliable than German/ Italian ones.
