I'd say don't worry about it until you actually get the PIP form.

May be ages yet and your condition may have changed by then.
But take some time and read up about PIP and form completion so you will be prepared. You'll have a month to get the form returned.

I was thinking of jumping the gun and applying for it - before they get in touch with me
I am aware that this goes against the normal advice - but my reasons are
That I have been on mid-care DLA since 2005 and my condition has deteriorated considerably since then - and feel that DWP will never get their act together and send me the PIP notification - Had DLA still been available, I would have asked for a reassessment, years ago !!

I was then "just" suffering from the after effects of a 15 year old head injury but still had my mobility - I was able to walk a few miles then. Now - I still have the same effects (poor memory, lack of handwriting, poor speech, poor coordination etc etc PLUS poor mobility (knee replacement - made necessary, over the years, by poor gait (linked to head injury) plus other problems (waterworks etc) !!

Thanks - but none of the descriptors REALLY apply to my condition - they are way too vague
The only one that comes close is Moving around - but even that is suspect
Going by what you said here, i'd either wait until you're asked to apply or do as advised and do some research into what the descriptors mean before applying for PIP. At least at the moment you have your DLA payments still. I'm sure there's a lot of people that wish they had that.

If the descriptors don't apply to you then you won't score those points. A lot of people that were/are claiming DLA won't qualify for PIP because those descriptors don't apply to them.
