Debt collector written off debt but still showing on my credit file?

Hi all,
I’m after some advice, I worked with a debt collection company and proved that I was completely unable to make any payments to some outstanding debts from years ago.
The debt collection company agreed and wrote off the debts in June this year, but I’ve recently done a credit search and they are still showing as outstanding. Is this correct? And if not what can I do about it?
Thank you

morning
usually defaulted accounts will drop off after 6 years from first default
if they not defaulted, and showing outstanding and balances, it can take a few months to get the updates through to the credit reference agencies
if this was done in June, best to give them a ring and make sure they have closed the account and updated the CRAs0 -
If they are with a debt collection agency they probably defaulted, if so they will stay there for 6 years. Did they say "write off" or "not pursuing it". The formed usually means it will go to zero, but the latter states the debts there they have just decided not to take further action on it.0
