No i didn't use my name or address and sent it from an email address that is not connected to my name! feel like a spy lol0

sorry didn't realise, I did read through the newbies post but got a bit confused. so you are saying I should just ignore? Can they not get my address etc from dvla and contact me that way?
nope, the DVLA do not hold drivers details, they hold KEEPER details, so the PPC will contact the keeper, the keeper is under NO OBLIGATION to name the driver, so shouldnt do, because that would normally be a stupid thing to do in all 4 nations
so NI is same as Scotland, because POFA2012 only applies as a law in England and Wales
are you under the false impression that all of the laws in the UK are the same for everyone ? I assume you have heard of devolution ?
different laws apply in the 4 nations and have done so for many years, exacerbated by devolution
so some laws apply all over the UK, yet others only apply in oe nation, or two nations (like POFA2012)
so "dont tell em Pike" is the name of the game
perhaps in future this will be a lesson to you in giving out information like this happened in N.I. because you have your own speciall laws (or lack of them)0 -
The advice to ignore has not been given here since the law changed in 2012. You are looking at old, out of date, and useless information.
Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES, then follow the advice for keepers in NI in parallel with a complaint to PALS.
You should edit your post to remove information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people.
sorry didn't realise, I thought you knew it was NI as you mentioned it in your post. I did read through the newbies post but got a bit confused. so you are saying I should just ignore? Can they not get my address etc from dvla and contact me that way?
I am not a mind reader. I amended my post after I saw the alleged event was in NI. This was the first time you had mentioned this crucial fact.
I also told you to read the NEWBIES first. Had you read it thoroughly you would have seen the bit about ignoring in NI and Scotland before you contacted the PPC.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
wow little bit aggressive. Guys I am only on here to ask for help, apologies if I did or said something wrong. Im not interested in a lecture or being told off I just wanted simple advise and help from people who would know what to do. I didn't know where else to turn and thought you could help.0

we can definitely help , but you left out the crucial piece of information and that has led to poor advice and frustration, all because YOU did not mention NORTHERN IRELAND
you didnt even consider that living in your nation may mean that its different , despite the fact that up until recently you had your own government at Stormont
in future, this fact of which nation you are in will always be crucial to the help you receive, because you have some laws of your own, plus you may not be following laws for england or wales or scotland
the whole brexit situation is also hinging on what happens as regards your nation , yet you dont seem to think that these things matter and its the same for us all ?
hence why we are frustrated with you because you didnt even consider it and didnt read that part about N.I. in the newbies faq thread either
I hope that you will accept this criticism for what it really is and realise that being in N.I. means that in some things it is different than the rest of the UK
you think that we are out of order, we think that you are in not telling us that VITAL bit of info , so we need YOU to learn from that error
advice for people in N.I, has always been different in this topic compared to the rest of the country, especially since 2012 in this case. other laws are also different, so you should never assume that it is the same for your country
some businesses even charge more to post to N.I. or parts of Scotland, so never assume its a "one size fits all"
here is another topic where its different for people in Scotland compared to the rest of the UK

this is education, not animosity , because you have inadvertently duped everbody that took the trouble to reply, especially ME. I took the trouble to read your post and give you the best advice I could within 5 minutes of you posting your query, you deceived me, so I am entitled to be aggrieved about it0 -
Dear Redx
Thank you so much for your lovely reply and my most sincere apologies that I deceived you - how you will ever get over the deception is beyond me. I do appreciate that you took the trouble to read my post and send such a thoughtful reply and I am very grateful for the education you have given me this evening about the rules and regulations of my nation. I can only apologise that I duped everyone - I didn't honestly think you would see through me for that. I came on here under the guise of "asking a question and advice" but dam you found me out and have realised I'm out to fool and dupe everyone. I can only thank the heavens above that we have people so kind as yourself to help especially as you most rightly pointed out that we have no government here in NI so its great to know that there are people like you out there! I have learned a valuable lesson here tonight - never ever go onto a forum and ask for help again. I hope whoever stole the cream from your cookie returns it soon or I fear you might stay in this miserable, self righteous, condescending mood forever and that would not be good for your health. p.s. don't bother with a reply as I fear it would send you completely over the edge Victor and as I will never be looking at this forum ever again it would be a waste of your very valuable and precious time as I am sure there are lots more silly questions you need to answer. Thanks again - NOT.0 -
your patronising and condescending reply really takes the "biscuit" because despite not actually having my cream stolen but my closest brother in law who sadly passed away unexpectedly last week , whilst consoling his family and trying to deal with the legal and financial mess and starting the probate etc I took some time out of my busy schedule to try to help you and your family whilst we await a coroners decision
I also had to park some distance from the hospital due to people who should not be in disabled bays having parked there anyway (no blue badge showing on some of them) , so my legal rights were violated and caused me some hardship as well
the volunteers here like myself have put a lot of work in here over the years for no reward and some people think its clever to be sarcastic instead of learning from their mistakes and our wisdom
what we find is that there are those who ask for help and then kick sand in the face of those who take time out to advise them, mainly because they dont like it that there are those who know more than they do, plus we are expected to be psychic and anticipate the country involved and also what laws apply in that area , usually because somebody has skim read the newbies thread on a small smartphone and not picked up on the key facts
it reminds me of some of the selfish politicians you have there that cause some of the issues and perhaps if they had more about them and due diligence they would govern and not have scandals like the energy issue and also think they can wield the axe over issues like brexit when they are in a minority (aka AEF)
BUT NOW THAT YOU HAVE THE INFO YOU REQUIRE I DOUBT THAT YOU WILL HELP OTHERS ON HERE, SOMETHING THAT WE REGULARS DO DAILY, DESPITE OUR OWN PERSONAL ISSUES
when you have feedback like mine, you may have a point, but your knee jerk reaction is typical of the hit and run able bodied newbie who doesnt stick around to pass on what they have learned & thinks they can just park where they like and are justified in doing so , a la post #1
the main difference that I see here is that I qualify under a UK law called the EA2010, and you dont qualify to park where you did at all, so you should have used the drop off option to deal with the issues you raised
perhaps N.I. should make a law that issues penalties to those who abuse it in hospitals ? or maybe even England , Wales and Scotland too (or dare I say it, clamp the unauthorised vehicle, or maybe tow it away ?)
my sympathies once more to your mum and son who were innocent parties in this saga, plus I will remember your kind words at the funeral in a few weeks time if we get release papers and get some hobnobs for the wake !!0
