NPOWER have three accounts registered against my credit file, they are my current utility provider and i do have a debt of £499.42 with them that i pay off each month alongside my bill.
the three entries are
£98.00
£87.00
£506.00
How do i go about getting the balance updated and just as one entry? I'm trying to improve my credit file so any suggestions would be a big help

Why do you have 3 accounts?
I'm guessing one for Gas, one for Electric and an old account?
Making it one account is fine, but the balance will still be the same so any "improvement" will be minimal. And some utility providers do break the accounts own by energy type0 -
I only have one account for NPOWER and that's my Electric at present, last year when i bought the house the gas and electric was with them both.
They have told me i only have one account live with them, so i'm unsure as to why three are showing.
Am i able to change provide whilst in debt? As they stopped me changing supplier last year due to owing them.0 -
So what do the 3 accounts show - are they abbreviated with "Gas" or "Electric" in the title?0
-
i wasn't aware you could click on them to show what they relate too.
I've just checked, two relate to Electric and one is Gas0 -
Why have you got two electricity accounts with the same supplier?
Are the three accounts marked as defaulted or marked as arrangement to pay (AP)?I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -
I have no idea, i think i'm best contacting them and requesting for my credit file to be updated.
I have once active account with them that covers my debt for the gas & electric and ongoing electric supply so god knows why there three0 -
So I'm guessing you had Gas and Electric with them as a dual-fuel account (hence the Gas and Electric accounts) and then you changed to Electric only with them, which is why the single Electric account is now there.
They won't merge the accounts into one - you need to start throwing money at them to clear the debts down.
They could stop you switching provider if you have a debt with them, yes - are you switching with the hopes of avoiding to pay them back?0 -
No i was just trying to get a better/cheaper deal, than have my utilities with two seperate companies. I can then pay my debt off separately0
-
They probably won't let you leave with a substantial amount owing in fear you would try and avoid paying it back.
Get it all settled up0 -
