Online application for Keepsafe needs payment card to be registered at the same (new) address, which it won't be.

I suppose OP could try postal application with a cheque, but IIRC a postal application generates a paper confirmation, which would also go to the new address, which sort of defeats the object:cool:

OP, if you are buying the new place, I would ask the current owners to hold your mail for you. If renting it, I'd probably simply redirect to your temporary family address.

This really is nothing unusual. The OP could simply pop into their DO and ask for mail to be held pending redirection.
This is not about setting up a keepsafe.

Thanks all for your advice and comments.

I spoke to the redirection team who told me that the Keepsafe won't deliver to the new address unless my card is registered to there. They also said they have a legal obligation to deliver mail to me and not hold it?

I need to arrange to go back to the house so I'll ask then.

It seems silly to set up a redirection to a relative for the sake of 4 days but it looks like that might be the only option if the sellers say no.

Im not sure why Keepsafe keeps getting mentioned. Its not needed.
Pop into the delivery office,take proof of your redirection and ask if they will hold the mail pending redirection.
This really isnt anything unusual.

Thanks Custardy, Keepsafe was mentioned by the person at RM I spoke to, hence why I've brought it up here. I asked if they would hold my mail and was told no. I'll speak to the DO when I'm next in the area and have my redirection details with me.

For clarity. The DO who deliver your mail to your present address,not the new one.
