Afternoon all
We were out earlyish this morning, first port of call was the meat van, second the surgery to collect Mr Fix Its meds and then get the medication from the chemist. After that we went to an out of town shop to choose bathroom floor tiles, we are an effective team as I did the choosing and now Mr Fix It will do the fitting. It shouldn't take too long to do as our bathroom could give a postage stamp a run for it's money :rotfl:. We had to stop for a coffee, nowadays our only vice... gone is the era of 's*x, drugs and rock 'n' roll' for us
( well it's prescription drugs only now :rotfl: )
I shall load the DW in a minute, then potter about. I have a CS bag to fill too, ready for Monday collection. I will have a rummage as I'm sure there are some things we no longer use/need that I can donate.
Tea tonight will be oven chips and a (shared) chicken tikka slice. We are determined to lose some weight before Christmas.
ScarlettR thank you for thinking about my health :A
MaddieM There may be a bumpy ride ahead but you will get through your problems with Mum, it will be a roller coaster at times, so hang on in there. What's the saying " live long enough to be a nuisance to your children" :rotfl::rotfl:.
Nelski enjoy the food show. I hope Holly is ok please give her my love if you are in contact. Thank you for being the go-between :A.
Sending hugs to all.

Quick re visit as I just had a lovely call with our Holly...the nurse was different today I guess but she allowed it
Anyway all went as well as can be expected yesterday although her surgeon thinks more needs to be done. As you know every op means 2 weeks off her other essential meds but she has decided to not start the meds again until after her surgeon is satisfied its all done. So proud of her thats a big decision and its going to mean lots more lows for her.
She sounded so positive which is amazing with all she is going through
Thought you would like to know0 -
Thanks for the update Nelski, Holly's true courage is to the fore.
I had a lovely couple of hours chat and laughter with my friends, and now have a down jacket in the washing machine. Then it's to get tumble dried with tennis balls. On recommendation I'm using woollen balls instead. Hoping it comes up well as I love the colour, a dusky deep turquoise.
I have no books for the charity shop, but I've added a pair of black shoes to the charity bag. Two pairs of good trousers may suit a neighbour's pal, so I delivered them this morning to be passed on.
I'm wearing a skirt (actually a dress with cardi on top) for the first time in ages. With dark turquoise rights and knee high boots. Seguing into cooler weather here.0 -

Nelski Thanks for the update, I hope that you are enjoying the show.
Nanny I love your sense of humour you make me smile often.:D
AOD No biscuits or soap, but we are indeed twins, my house is a mess too, it will have to be tidied tomorrow as we have visitors on both Sunday and Monday:D
OH has been hedge cutting again, a 40ft x 15ft x about 2ft 6 conifer hedge which divides our front garden from next door's. Our boundary, but neighbours put the hedge in and want it gone as it is getting too much work cutting it back twice a year. So the chaps are cutting away each side, another lovely neighbour stopped by with his professional type hedge cutter, so having been raiding the gardens of two empty houses (previous permission given and reciprocated) there are now 4 green wheelie bins full of conifer and a whole car load of the stuff in bags, trip to neighbouring town tomorrow to the tip, council very kindly (not) closed ours. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Up north visiting the family. I’m looking after my 2 grandsons for 24 hours aged 4 & 2. The 2 year old doesn’t need sleep so I will be fit for nothing tomorrow.
Thinking of Mrs TA and family.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.0 -
