Royal Mail lost parcel help?

Hi guys,

New here and any help would be really appreciated,

I purchased some items from fox online Europe and they arrived the start of last month, however went to go send it back which cost me £12.55, After not receiving a refund I contacted fox who told me they hadn’t got the items back, so went along to Royal Mail who said they tried to deliver the items but it was refused now claiming the items are lost. Now fox don’t want to refund me and Royal Mail will only give me £50 for £138 worth of stuff I sent.

Where do I go from here? I want just want a refund for my stuff.

    Who arranged the return, you or was it a prepaid by the retailer? If the former then it's entirely your responsibility to ensure the goods get back to the seller. If you wanted to be fully compensated for their loss then you should've taken out adequate insurance when you arranged the delivery with RM.

    If you paid for a service which only provides £50 of cover then, unfortunately, that's all you're entitled to.
  • I understands that but the warehouse it was returned to refused delivery, which is why it is lost.

    No it was lost because the postal service lost it, sorry but you can't blame the seller for this and tbh it makes no difference why it was lost, the issue is you haven't taken out the correct level of cover for the item you sent.
  • After the warehouse I was sending it too refused delivery, it’s still saying returning to sender but Royal Mail now class it as lost
  • Do you know why the warehouse refused the delivery?

    Did Fox give you the address to send the shipment to or did you just return to the address it was sent from?
    Many companies have a different address for receiving returns and if you sent the package to the wrong place, they might not have had the facility for receiving incoming postal shipments.
  • I emailed fox and asked for the return address so I didn’t have that issue, the tracking information said that the warehouse had refused delivery

    You're avoiding the issue. Did you insure the contents and for how much? If not it doesn't matter a fig where or when the parcel was lost, it's lost.

    It's pretty clear from post #1 that the insurance paid out only £50;

    You've been asked already but I'll ask again: why did the warehouse refuse the delivery? You won't get any more than you already have from RM but if you can show that there was no good reson for the delivery to be refused then you might have a chance at getting a refund from Fox.
