Article on complaining to the Financial services ombudsman

I have just read the MSE article on complaining to the Financial services ombudsman (article /reclaim/fight-back-fos/) and believe that there is an omission which should be added to avoid confusion.

FOS will not look at a complaint when you are not a customer of the firm you are complaining about.

I know this as I have a had a recent complaint about actions taken by an IFA (not my IFA) which resulted in an unauthorized pensions transfer rejected by FOS.

Specifically, an IFA from a firm I have no direct dealings with, incorrectly transfered my pension to someone else. I complained to the his firm who denied any wrong doing so I went to FOS who did not even investigate as I was not a customer of his or his firm.
