wont be buying a mattress from ikea then if that is the case
I doubt they are impossible to bendThe reason some mattresses can be rolled up is because of the way they are manufactured, not the quality.
Mattresses that are made of foam can have all the air removed, then be rolled and packed sealed.
This makes transportation and storage cheaper.
I have a friend who has had an Ikea memory foam mattress for years. It came rolled up, and is now in exactly the same state as it was when it first inflated. No depressions or soft spots whatsoever.
My Simba is also unchanged, but I have only had that months, not years.
Ah yes the memory foam mattress , that makes sense, my comments relate to a sprung mattress, I have never had a memory foam mattress0 -

We have a couple of Ikea spring mattresses that came rolled. They go flat within a day and are perfectly comfortable mattresses. Although we do only have them on the single beds, we've never tried a double.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
We have a king one that came rolled up and it's very good, you could never tell that was once rolled, as I said it would be impossible now to bend it.0

I imagine some lighter mattresses would be able to be rolled initially but you just couldn't do that with a quality pocket sprung mattress with multiple layers.0

Tangential point ... I see lots of mattress suppliers being advertised:
Eve
Simba
Casper
Leesa
Emma
They all have "person-like" names ... are they really all different? Or just the same mattress supplied under different names to give the illusion of competition?0 -

Yes you can:

Again, this simply comes under peoples different perceptions of quality. And this only started because someone asserted that 'all' mattresses come rolled up which is clearly not true...
My issue is not with quality as I have never slept on one of these instagram mattresses, but the glut of bloggers and vloggers all waxing lyrical about these mattresses, which have been sent to them for free, and never seem to have any bedding on when they are talking about how marvellous they are, and solve all their back pain after one night.
I am similarly dubious about all 'instagram marketted' items.0 -

£190 is not a quality mattress.
I am 100% sure that my mattress could not be rolled up0 -
Neither can that one once unrolled, as explained.
Not sure what a "quality mattress" (a expensive one?) is but I'm very happy with mine!0
