mobile internet with 3 problem-how to fix/what is it!

I mainly use my internet (X series silver) for internet radio/BBC listen again etc.

Initially (6 weeks or so ago) it was brilliant- so stable that a 30min train journey including short tunnels was possible without interruption to listening.

Now it cuts out and requires reconnecting on a freq, but probably irregular basis.

This is regardless of whether moving or just with the phone on the desk at home or work. It is very annoying!

Ordinary web browsing I think also does this, but I kind of expect it to need reloading on and off so I don't really take note of this.

I wondered if 3 had noted my browsing pattern (ie online for an hour plus without any buttons pressed etc) and assuming I'd left it on idle, had set a timed shutdown. However this doesn't seem right as I havs just listened to all of Dead ringers from last week (30mins) and apart from a slightly dodgt recption at times it was fine.

I did try ringing 3, but nice as theywere the chap in India obviously had no idea that you could use internet to listen to the radio and kept directing me to the phone info for the inbuilt FM radio:rolleyes:

Is it related to the 3.5G introductions- if so it is a pain! At the moment in BRum I sometimes get 3G sometimes 3.5G but it swaps between the 2 at random even within a browsing session sat on the sofa!

I'd like to go gold for slingbox and orb, but if it can't keep a stable radio feed then there is, I guess no chance of video feed being useable...
