I have been trying to update AVG but keep getting an error message
Error trying to connect to server.
Server name cannot be converted to the IP address.
In Security Centre, click Windows Firewall in 'Manage security settings for' and make sure Windows Firewall is Off.
Also, in your HjT log there are 2 Norton Antivirus items:
O2 - BHO: NAV Helper - {BDF3E430-B101-42AD-A544-FADC6B084872} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll
O3 - Toolbar: Norton AntiVirus - !!42CDD1BF-3FFB-4238-8AD1-7859DF00B1D6} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool - http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
After that, run another HjT scan and if any Norton Antivirus items remain tick them and click Fix.0 -
Tried everything you suggested to no avail, still not updating.
Followed advice on grisoft free forum but it seems that I am not the only person to have these problems. Have spent the last 6 hours installing and unistalling following all the guidelines and advice and have finally given up.
My initial problem with the talktalk security is sorted, maybe I should just try an alternative free anti virus. Any suggestions?0
