    Afternoon all,

Cooler today, though its pleasantly sunny, DGD5(twinM) here until a few minutes ago, she is on an antibiotic since yesterday for 2 ear infections and is excluded from creche for 24 hours..... She was in good form and had pasta with pesto for lunch which is her current favourite, very easy for Maimeo!

I am on dinner duty tonight, have prepped veg and chicken legs, 8 of which I am marinating in yogurt and garam masala, the rest I will cook plain. Just invented the marinade so not sure how it will turn out but you have to break out sometimes.

Thinking of the TA family, Holly and anyone else needing a hug

Good afternoon all, cold and showery here.

Sending hugs and spoons to all that need any, particular thoughts to TA and family, Poppy, taff, Specky's Gran, RosyReds friend and of course our dear Holly.

Didn't quite get a gold star from the hygienist, but she said a huge improvement on last time:D:D OH waited in while I was in town for my delivery of medication and injecting supplies from the hospital, for the second batch running they have sent me the huge sharp's bucket, but no lid:mad: last time I was able to just manage with the old one until my 6 month appointment, won't happen this time, I will report it to the department, hopefully they might be able to post or courier it, round trip of 120 miles to the hospital in Birmingham, so not volunteering to collect one:(

Lovely to hear from you Tru, have missed the updates re Scampi and the chooks. OL I hope the 2 hour nap is the start of a regular pattern for the little one.

Hi chums well an eventful weekend and a very busy one for me ,yesterday we went to DGD for Sunday lunch and it was delicious and our gentle Jack ate like he hadn't eaten for a month (probably hadn't at Uni ) then he got a text from his pal who was supposed to be taking him back in the evening to say his gear box had died on him, so I had to drive him back to Uni as he had tutorials and lectures this morning.

So at 6.30 p.m. I was on the M25 in the bucketing rain driving from darket Kent to Hatfield and back, a round trip of about 140-50 miles in the pouring rain :) Bit scary withall the lorries and spray but it had to be done Got home around 10.30 pm

Today DGS Ben has a trial day at a school in Rochester. I am hoping something may develop from it, fingers crossed

Speky well done on your decision to move I'm sure you will have a great time in Mancland.

Nelski only you could have a friend like that,I am looking for a friend who makes gin but haven't found one yet :):)

gentle hugs for those in need and much love to Mrs Ta and family

Weather a bit pants here in Kent damp ,grey and rainy at the moment I am off to try the local evening WI tonight see if I like it or not I did try the afternoon one but the ladies were decidedly a bit of a clique and I just couldn't find anything I liked there.Very twin sets and tweedy types not at all me :):):)

Saturdays Making Miracles in rochester Cathedral went well with a good turn out of knitters and Saturday nights charity quiz was great fun I am just pottering today as I am a bit exhausted from all the weekend :) tomorrow morning I am hosting the U3A coffee morning and pub quiz in the evening. Eldest DD is popping in around 5.00 to pick up DGS and wife's Christmas presents as she is off to NYC on Friday for a week to see them.

Right must get a wriggle on the sitting room could do with a quick hoover

Take care all and keep warm and dry if you can

Afternoon all, sorry for the late post but we have had a couple of "those days ".
Had a run in with Dad yesterday and again today. He's driving me up the wall and round the bend :wall::wall:. Nearly ended up back in 'Arry Potters cupboard, I am so angry with him and I made sure he knows it . However I fear it's water off a ducks back :(.
This morning we were on the way to Morries for bread and milk and stopped to give Mr Fix It's cousin a lift to town, as she was going shopping for her Dad. So that's our good deed for today :).
Came home via our van to make sure it was still standing after storm Callum..... it's safe and secure. Took Dad a loaf of bread too as that was all he needed. ( We had offered to take him shopping but he declined, but don't get me started on that  )
This afternoon all our electrics went off twice, but fair play to the 'leccy people who rang us to say there was a fault and they were dealing with it. I rang for a CT scan appointment for Dad and I had to wait in a queue for 20 mins, but it is sorted now, November 8th, the week before he sees the chest consultant.
Mr Fix It has his diabetic appointment early tomorrow morning, so I expect I shall be in the waiting room for about an hour even after he goes in. I'm getting fed up of hospitals and Dr's now :(.
I had a " to do" list but I have accomplished nothing today, I've still not emptied the DW and that finished this morning . Oh well there's always the rest of the week to get on with the jobs :rotfl:.
I have to put out the recycling now, unless I can persuade Mr Fix It to do it :think:........ After all it is raining, a week day and I have a bone in my leg :rotfl:
Tea tonight will be mince beef pie and chips, with stewed apple and ice cream for pudding.
Speky :j exciting times lie ahead for you. I hope your Gran has a speedy recovery.
Tru and MeanMarie nice to "see" you

    Holly thinking of you xx.
TA and family sending you all my love and virtual support xx
Nelski you can keep the brownies as I don't like those, but if there are any of the others spare, have a heart and send them post haste to a damsel in distress ;):rotfl:. ( P.S. That's me by the way :D.)

Sending hugs to all the poorly old stylers, those struggling with life and the fed up/cheesed off ones too. Hope tomorrow will be a better day.
    Take care

    nan xx

Afternoon - it's a beautifully cold day here.

My admin work is almost finished, just one more non-urgent piece. I've got marking to do so that's pencilled in for Wednesday when I'm waiting for my new chair to be delivered.

My neighbour has just been to collect the 'old' chair! :j Now there's a gap but it's OK as I'd prefer it gone sooner rather than later. Two big blokes managed to get it out of the front door easily even though it's bulky.

The cleaner is coming tomorrow instead of today so I'll go up to Oban in the morning. I almost went today, however found out that there was a fatal accident just outside of it so the road is closed. In good news the emergency relief road for the Rest has been opened, until 6pm. Convoys with BEAR transport leading the way, these take ages. Almost better than the 60 mile diversion.

One of my nephews lives in QLD where there have been awful storms with lots of flooding too. No-where is exempt.
  • TA, So very sorry to read about your darling husband. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
