Morning all
Good to hear from you tru, glad you're busy and OK.
Hugs to all the TAs.
Well, I'm in Jersey, it's a bit overcast but I'm laying in bed looking at the sea with a cuppa. I'm here with a friend from work, wasn't sure if she would make it as her MIL died on Thursday but her ex is home from holiday now so there's nothing she can do.
Hotel is lovely but up a hill again, I seem to be able to pick hotels with a view!
Have a good day, take care. Xx0 -
Morning everyone,
I hope everyone is well and had a nice weekend.
On Friday, I officially handed my notice in to work my remaining 4 weeks and then start a new chapter in Manchester!! Mixed emotions but on the whole. I'm terribly excited. After I had put the letter on my bosses desk, I drove home to visit my gran who was released from hospital providing that she was under supervision, so she's staying at my mums. I bought her a little bouquet of flowers and gave her a big hug. Great to see her out of those horrible hospital robes. She was exhausted and so left for an early bed, which meant that I too left to see my friend's new house. An eventful day.
On Saturday the only plan I had was getting a haircut in Glasgow city centre. My hairdresser has been cutting my hair for 8 or 9 years and given that I see her every 4 weeks, we're pretty close. She was gutted to hear that I will be leaving for Manchester but knew it was something I've always wanted.
The weather was dreadful, like proper flooding in some main streets, so i cancelled my planned golf trip for the Sunday morning and instead spent the night with my mate as we cooked fajitas and had a few beers.
Sunday fell back into the normal routine whereby I tie up loose ends during the day (meal plan, shopping, petrol, tidy etc) then over to my mums for family dinner which, as always, was lovely. Afterwards, we collectively looked a properties in Manchester on RightMove and today, I'll follow up with an enquiry. I'm also waiting to hear back from a few local letting agents today on the process with my current flat.
So I start the week feeling prepared and excited. Healthy meals planned and lots of exercise too.
TA - Aw I am so so sorry to hear the sad news.
Nelski - Can I be friends with your friend too?
Tru - Great to have you back and sounded like a very idyllic trip.
camelot - Enjoy your trip!!0 -

Good luck with your up and coming move and we are a friendly lot honest
Great news about your Gran I bet she is getting spoilt rotten0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) to those who need one, especially the TA's as they prepare to say goodbye to Bob.
Its raining here again. Having spent most of yesterday in bed, we have decided that OH is well enough to take on his own care again. I had a disaster yesterday afternoon which has resulted in the need for a new TV!!
No idea whats for supper......need to have a freezer rummage me thinks.0 -
Morning all,
Pretty grey here,it was clear yesterdy afternoon so went very chilly last night. We went up to our friends yesterday, havent seen them for a couple of weeks with being away last weekend. They were exhausted after nephew and family had stayed for a few days. They dont have DGC so arent used to the full on activity by little 'uns. She couldnt get over how many loaves & 4 pinters of milk they'd used in 3 days either:D, just sounded like a normal week here to me :rotfl:
My friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier in the year is visiting today. She finished her chemo and is starting radiotherapy this week. I haven't seen her for months since the diagnosis as she didnt feel up to visitors and doesnt live in our home town ,but we are in touch every week.
Thinking of TA and her family, sending much love.
Hugs to anyone else in need
Nelski,I shall look out for choc orange brownies at the Manchester markets
,that's if our trains ever start running again at the weekends! Severely curtailed our excursions to Mancland this year ( and last!) those pesky trains.
Camelot,enjoy Jersey

I'm very happy and excited, but I can't say why!
Speky, I'm glad your gran is getting better.
They sound lush Nelski.
Good to see you posting Tru.
If you are reading TA we are still thinking about you.0 -
Beautiful blue sky here, but chilly. I've done some sewing for a friend this morning, and will swim this afternoon.
Glad to read your Gran is out of hospital, Speky and that you've put the wheels in motion for the Manchester job. The notice period goes quickly in my experience.
Thinking of TA and family and sending thoughts to all poorlies and carers.
Ouch to needing a new TV Csarina, the main thing is that you and your DB are okay.
All the best to everyone. xxx0 -
Hello, I've just had a busy morning doing nothing much.
Thoughts are with TA and her family. Also, best wishes to those who are unwell or worried.
Tru, it is good to see a post from you.
Speky, your post is full of good news.
It poured all day yesterday and it us the same today so I'm not going anywhere. Our poor postman arrived having reached the stage where he just couldn't get any wetter, he did look miserable.
I've just had leftover veg blitz soup, free and nutritious.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
