I know exactly how you feel, I’m going through the exact same thing I accepted an offer a couple of months ago they had the survey done the week after. Their mortgage was approved they’ve since had about half a dozen people around to look at the boiler plumbing trees and electrics.

There are some things that need updating which they knew from questions asked and answered and they’ve now left it that they will sort out things this week.

Just hang in there if your like me your finding this completely stressful but it’s a big purchase and people worry.

Hopefully everything works out well and you’ll be moving very soon, good luck and let us know how it works out.

We have always had several visits to any property we have bought.

You need to know what it's like during rush hour, on school days, what parking is like after work has finished, to do proper measurements for curtains or blinds, to work out what you can live with and what has to be replaced/improved straight away. Personally, I think it's a sign of a buyers serious intentions if they want to make multiple visits, even if it is after an offer has already been made.

It was five months between my offer being accepted and completion. I viewed the place probably three or four times during that period. I had no intention of trying to renegotiate. I wanted to do lots of practical things like measuring and planning, but I also just wanted to see the place again.

I'd be really concerned if a seller refused me a viewing. I'd be tempted to pull out.

I wouldn't be in the least concerned if a buyer wanted a repeat viewing - it's totally routine.

I suspect they'd be mighty suspicious if you were reluctant to let them have that.

I've only ever bought two homes. Both from couple with two young children.

First one I asked for a viewing just before exchange and was refused.

Second one was granted and we had a good chat and the owners pointed out lots of handy things they thought we should know.

If I was selling and my buyers asked I would certainly entertain the idea. I might even get some cake in :D

Maybe they want to measure up for flooring / curtains etc

This was exactly the reason we asked the seller of our current property if we could return for another viewing 2 months after we put the offer in.

I did an additional viewing on mine after offers had been accepted and we were close to exchange as I wanted to double check where certain things where like the gas meter was located and whether there was a plug socket in the porch. Knowing where these were was important for planning where to put appliances for example.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

Can`t believe anyone would be "reluctant" to let a buyer who is spending (borrowing) many thousands to buy something from them get another viewing, to refuse would definitely make you look like you had something to hide. Let`s be realistic though, if it is in relation to the survey they may ask you to pay for something or drop the price before they buy?

Surely crashy you meant "they are going to offer a higher price..."

It turns out my instincts to refuse another visit may have been correct. A week after the visit and now the buyer wants another surveyor to visit in two weeks. It is now nearly FOUR MONTHS after I accepted his offer and there is no chain at his end.
I am considering pulling out of the sale - but unfortunately even if I don't I can't see my purchase surviving further delays.
