Ummm, my business because don't be a landlord if you are going to !!!! tenants about every time a family member comes to you because their 20 year old !!! spent their rent money and got kicked out of their flat.

The landlord didn't need to tell you any of their personal business to be fair. They don't need any reason at all.

what do you mean by !!!! tenants around.. they're seeking possessions within the processes permitted by law, which they have a right to. You're getting the same treatment you signed up for with a private tenancy.

With it being a family member, the person was chosen / agreed ahead of time without the several fruitless viewings. Don't see why you're complaining, no one has done wrong by you..

Think you need a reality check - and I will defend tenant right to the hilt!

It's the Landlord choice who they let their property to.

Whether that's a drug addict, a professional or a relative. It's got sweet fa to do with you.

I allowed them access and they bounced round the house like a crass pair of puppies.
I have never had a landlord turf me out to replace with a family member in 20 years of being a renter. I find it incredibly unprofessional. As a landlord you should keep your business and your family separate and do right by your tenants, else you're not acting as a professional landlord.
My point - tenants shouldn't be uprooted because your 18 year old grand daughter or any family member needs somewhere to live.
Anyway, I have been caused inconvenience due to this persons lack of professionalism - lesson learned.

    What a load of nonsense.
    It's nothing , not nothink.

    Are you sure?

    Positive.

If the LL wants to let to sex offenders or nuns; thieves or coppers; murderers or doctors - it's solely down to them

Tenants like this make me pity landlords.

I ask again, I presume you have never left a property over the past 20 years when the landlord wanted you to stay? Because that would be hugely hypocritical if so...

You wouldn't support your familiy in times of need then.
  • If a member of my family needed a place to live I would most definitely put their needs above my tenant. Sorry, that's life. Just like the tenant would put their family needs above the landlord. Op you're just cross you need to move on.

Does it matter why the LL's given the OP notice? He's on an SPT, and he's been given correct notice. End of.

Don't want to be at risk of notice? Then sign a new periodic tenancy.
  • OP - you could ask the landlord what he wants measuring and do it for him?
