I have been using Pixlr Editor for editing photos for years, but now I can't access the site because I keep getting a message saying:

Ad-blocker Detected
Hi Human! We've detected that you are using an ad-blocker.

Pixlr has remained free for so long due to the revenue from ads.

Please help us keep Pixlr free-to-use ^_^

CANCEL YES, I'LL WHITELIST PIXLR.COM

Having googled this I have tried several different ways to allow ads on this site, but nothing will work for me.

Please does anyone know an easy way to get around this or, alternatively, know of a photo editing site that allows access even with an ad-blocker on?

Many thanks.

  • Why use an online sited program?
Just download on of the many free ones to your computer? All have differing facilities complexity and aims but try AVS4YOU, Photoscape, GIMP2. etc. I'm sure others will be suggested.

'Edit' is rather a generalism. Post what specifically you wish to do within edits? Colouring/quality corrections, adding shapes or manipulating, and combining shots/images, converting formats etc.

Thanks so much for the information.

All I do really is resize photos so that I can email or upload them and also a bit of cropping - nothing very complicated.

    It says AdBlock.

If you click on their site and then click "open pixlr editor" you will see the first message. Then click on Yes, I'll whitelist pixlr.com - it shows the box thing.

    https://pixlr.com

    Thank you.

Do you use Chrome as you main browser? I do, could this be causing the problem?

Have a look at your Chrome extensions and tell us what adblocker you are running.

Haven't looked there before, but very strange as it appears to be just Kaspersky Protection - says "your protection on the internet with extension from Kaspersky Lab" (added by a third party, presumably Kaspersky). However, it is not switched on - should I do this?

I thought that Google Chrome had its own adblocker in place now, but can't see that.

Are you meant to run some extensions?
