  • I sent this message to DPD -
Hello, I really dont like to complain but this is the 3rd time in a week we have stayed in and not even heard a knock on the door. The dog barked and I went to go to the door but the driver had already gone. The day before for a different delivery, my daughter waited around for the parcel from 8 o clock. She saw a DPD van waiting outside for a very long time and smiled at the driver who was standing some distance away in a nursing home car park. She assumed he was delivering to the nursing home since he never came to our door. Both times the driver has left the parcel next door. Im not sure why the driver thinks this makes more sense than waiting for me or my daughter to answer the door. Its just a matter of seconds. Thankyou.

I forgot to mention that the 1st delivery half of my items were missing thanks to DPD.

This is the reply I got from them -
    Hello there,

Thank you for your email,I can see from the tracking that your parcel has been delivered.

    Have a lovely day.

    Kind regards,

DPD are useless!!! Even an apology would have soothed over my frustration. People have to take time off work for this. Also I cannot even get the parcel from my neighbour as she goes out all day. Why not just actually knock on our door? The driver has seen my neighbour come out of her house and is to lazy to knock on ours.
At least this rant has made me feel somewhat better :)

Well he did knock as your dog heard it and barked. Maybe invest in a doorbell.

If your neighbour is out all day how was the DPD driver able to deliver it to her?
  • I ensured we were home yesterday for a DPD delivery. We get the standard "you weren't in" email. Odd, because nobody rang the bell and CCTV shows nobody came to the front door. Driver uploads a photo of the door to the plant room external to the building.

DPD turns it around on us and blames us even though our profile on the app clearly shows what the front door to our home looks like, with subtle clues like the presence of door buzzers and a big sign naming the building....

So now we wait to see if he can manage to find the front door today. Looking at the profile of the driver in question, he's been with the company 2 years, done 60K+ deliveries and has a 4.9 rating too so !!!!!!?

We have a ring doorbell and have caught several DPD drivers attempting to sneak around the sensors to take a picture to make it appear as if they actually tried to do their job.

We even had one driver stay in his van for what seemed like 5 minutes, came out with my package but with the label peeled off and was trying to sneak around the camera. IDK what his plan was, but all I know is that the label must've been on it at some point because how would he know the parcel's for me, right? I complained and got a lovely cardboard flavoured cookie as an apology...

I also got one of those cookies as an apology for a previous complaint (backed up with CCTV). I actually thought it was a sweet (no pun intended) gesture as it was a personalised cookie and a nice touch. And it didn't taste like cardboard either!
