Letter of Authority for other passenger claim

Hi,

I was on a delayed flight with my wife. We are entitled to compensation, been through the whole process and Aviationadr has ruled in our favour. The claim is for myself and my wife.

The airline are now asking for a Letter of Authority, authorizing me to claim compensation on the other passenger’s behalf.

What should this letter include, can anyone point me in right direction to an example?

Thanks legal magpie, I literally wrote the same thing in a letter yesterday in the end.

Was this BA by any chance? I had to do the same thing last year, even though we have a BA household account and I paid for both tickets using my BA Credit Card.

To try to be fair to them, I suppose half the compensation is legally due to your wife and not to you, so they have to cover themselves incase they paid you all the amount and then she claimed as well.

I don't know why they can't just have a tick box to say "I am authorised to make this claim on behalf of all the passengers on my booking", which is what you if you make any changes to a group booking.
