  • Yesterday I spent £3.45 on coffee and a croissant for breakfast. Also paid off a spare £60 that I have towards my MBNA CC :j

I forgot that tonight I have an eyebrow wax and tint appointment so that will be £25. I get paid tomorrow so more will be paid off CC and YNAB wil be all budgeted for.

  • Payday yesterday so paid £100 off MBNA and £200 off Santander.

Added £50 to the weekend break pot and £30 to the Christmas 2019 pot.

Going to a friends tonight for drinks and a sleepover so will pick up a couple of drinks on my way. Also having lunch out as someone in my team is leaving but planned out what I’m having and budgeted for that.

  • Started my £12 a day challenge and today was a NSD.

Also transferred over £50 into my emergency savings which I forgot to do when I got paid.

Out for lunch tomorrow again as someone is leaving but again planned what I’m going to have.

Wish we did a different activity when someone left rather than eat out, not good for my waistline or my wallet!

  • Started the day with £24 and spent £16.95 on lunch out for someone leaving. Then spent 2.80 at the Coop on some veg.

So taking £4.25 into tomorrow which should be a no spend day.

  • Started yesterday with £16.25 and treated myself to breakfast and a coffee because I was in super early. That cost me £3.35 and so ended the day with £12.90.

Today I started the day with £24.90 and it was a NSD woo! So ending the with that I started.

As it’s the last day of the month I decided to take a proper look at YNAB to see where my highest spending was for Feb. Groceries were £117.42 which isn’t a disaster but could be so much lower. My clear disaster area was dining out with £147.05  this is a crazy amount!! That’s £36 a week. I’ve had a few work leaving meals which haven’t helped and I think my issue is that I try to plan what to have but once I’m in there I order more than what I need. Again not helping my waistline or wallet.

Can’t believe I’ve not looked back and assessed the month like this before. It’s been really eye opening to see what I actually spend.

  • Sounds like you are doing well on analysing your spending. The groceries figure is good. At least you now know where your overspend areas are. Not sure what to suggest about the meals out but I often find they all come at the same time too.

  • Completely agree Enthusiasticsaver. I ate out Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday last week due to various reasons. This month I cannot see it being anywhere near as much as last month. I have a friend coming to stay towards the end so we'll probably go for dinner and a brunch but aiming for that to be the only meals out.

  • Started today with £36.90 and had another NSD today.

Don't really have any plans for tonight or really for this weekend so should be a quiet one on the spending front.

Need to get a food shop tomorrow from Mr T but aiming for a £25 limit on the spending which should be doable.

  • Started today with £48.90. Planned out my meals so went to do a weekly food shop at Mr Ts. Spent £32.36 which was slightly over what I planned to spend. There was probably a couple of things that I could have done without but I still think that would have only shaved off £2 or £3 as I stuck to my list.

Nothing much planned for this evening other than a chill in front of the TV. Tomorrow I need to go and pick up a presecription but that should be the only spend tomorrow.

    Ending today on £16.54

  • Started today with £28.54. Needed to collect a prescription so spent £8.80 on that and then spent £4.99 on an add on for my Sims game.

So ending this week with £14.75. Still not fully decided what to do with whats left over at the end of each week. I think I'm gonna move it to a seperate pot in case of general emergencies where I need more than £12 a day. Then I'll empty at the end of the month and use it to pay off more off the MBNA card.

Feeling positive about this week, planned all meals so should be no additional buying of food or lunches. Got no social ocassions after work this week either. Fingers crossed I have another positive week!
