Parking fines by UKPC

Good evening,
I’ve just seen the following from my colleague - I’m not sure if there is more to add from what Coupon-Mad had wrote on the topic before but as always any support with this would be appreciated.
“Hi!
Sorry to bother you again but I am back in court this Wednesday and you may have seen from the doments I sent via email that they have reduced the cost to £60 plus court charges. They produce another evidence which is forged. Firstly, the landlord says the contract did not allow for increasing the charges from £90 to £100 from December 2013 as stated in the letter UK parking Limited's solicitor sent to be. Also, the PCN they have included in the recent correspondence is not for this parking area as the ink used to indicate the time is not the same colour on all the witness statement already with the court from the original court hearing.
I was wondering whether I can still argue for the case to be thrown out even with the reduced cost of £60 intead of the £90? I also understand that UK parking limited no longer has the right to manage car managing in this area.”0 -
I wonder what "they have reduced the cost to £60 plus court charges" means?
Is this £60 the 'cost' that they added on? The bolt-on costs?
Or is it the Parking Charge?0 -
I honestly don’t know! They were initially charging £100 but when it got to court the judge noticed the signs say £90 so now they have sent her revised invoices with the amounts mentioned. The judge did say no new evidence can be submitted so I’m not sure how they can now produce a new invoice, additionally these tickets accrued in 2014 so it is possible that they may be out of timescale..?0

Assuming that this is in England then they had 6 years to start legal proceedings
They were well within that time frame0 -
My colleague has confirmed that they have recalculated the invoices to £60 per ticket plus costs - can they do this?0

...... and there it seems to end ......
Any update @Money...MATTERS?
It has now ended - there were no updates before because my colleague was waiting to return to court, she did so today and WON!!! The Judge said there were too many inconsistencies in the Claimant's witness statement. I tried to press for more from my colleague by she was still in a state of euphoria :A so I hope she will brief me properly at some point - and of course I will provide an update when she does so.
Thanks to everyone that provided guidance and support for this third hand case, I was truly worried that she wouldn't get a grip on the matter but she did and she won.:j:T0 -
After a lot of hard work, well done
The Judge said there were too many inconsistencies in the Claimant's witness statement
And there is us thinking there was a real solicitor involved ??0 -
Very well done to you and your colleague. Look forward to the more detailed account. Thank you for the initial feedback and good news.
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUSTPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Welll done!
Did your colleague get their costs? This has to be unreasonable surely!?0 -
The judge did ask whether she wanted to claim anything but she said no:( she said that she was just happy it’s over. I wish she had asked for her costs she was very stressed out but hey ho! still happy for the win.0
