I don't know why anyone would want to shop at Lidl anyway.

If you get a myWaitrose loyalty card (free signup) and shop there regularly, they often send you vouchers for offers such as £8 off if you spend £40.

You also get a free coffee, and much nicer stuff for your table.

And you don't have to mix with the hoi-polloi.

I went into Waitrose last week - without exception every item that wasn't on offer was more expensive. I bought my milk - and even that was dearer than any other supermarket. Yes, I could have had a "free" coffee, but I'd pay for it by the difference in prices in everyday, branded goods.

I find with Aldi that their products look like brands but aren't. It's a bit like going into a supermarket abroad. The only thing I buy from Aldi is BallyCastle which is a Baileys type product. I use it in rice pudding, cheesecake and bread and butter pudding.

I'm not that fond of the discount supermarkets but quite like B and M Bargains as there are brands. It's a bit like the old Kwik Save.

  • Why not have shopping delivered? NO CHANCE of scamvoice there.

I don't know how I come up with these great ideas :)

Best thing to do with Lidl, rush in, get the cheapo wines,
get out and shop somewhere else, it's all they deserve
as Lidl don't like customers ... do they?
