Address/Credit check for mortgage application

My sister has adult children both of whom are planning to purchase their own properties with their partners.
I told her that there might be a problem as bothare apparently using their family home whilst residing elsewhere, for practical reasons. One in some city (in large block of flats where Mail doesn’t always reach) the other in a different city ( frequent change of address due to job).
I believe both are paying their respective share of Council Tax, though unsure whether the bills are in the name of their partners.
I wonder if this will cause difficulties (by providing conflicting information), for credit checks when they apply for mortgages? If so, what would be required and if so why?
Having raised it as a possible concern, I’d like to be able to reassure her.
Thanks in advance

If there are inconsistencies in addresses across the application, ER, bank details, council tax, etc, it's very likely to cause a problem.
They should ensure that all addresses are accurate, to avoid the possibility of declines or worse.0 -
Thank you for your quick response.
Not sure what ER is?
They would be able to provide information on all addresses (5 years is usual, I think).
Given their home address remains the most stable for the reasons stated, how best should this be managed? They obviously wanted continuity to ensure credit cards and confidential post are safely received at their home and also in the light of unstable long term rentals.
Also any sudden changever of all accounts etc to current addresses now just prior to applying for mortgage could raise more questions too? Difficult to know how best to proceed?0 -
ER is electoral roll. Where are they registered?0

Sorry I should have worked that out.
Home address I reckon, as seem to remember one of them applied for postal vote for the last General Election.as she was out of town.0 -
Rather than duplicating this thread elsewhere, could anyone advise how I can relocate this thread under Housebuying where it might be better suited?
Many Thanks0 -
