Not sure if its been asked before?
Quite a few items (2Ks worth) we would like as lounge furniture but dubious about buying online without seeing first!
What's peoples experience? Are they reliable?
Thanks

Yes, I bought a desk for my new office. It arrived damaged. They sent me a replacement. That arrived damaged. They sent me another one - you guessed it, damaged. Customer service were fairly good about dealing with this but ultimately the service was shoddy - poor packaging and delivery standards.
In the end, I had enough desk parts to put together a desk that was mostly undamaged (still a bit of minor damage on one of the corners) but they refunded me in full, collected the unwanted bits and gave me £50 credit so I did end up with a free desk. I've still got the credit and will use it at some point but other than that I wouldn't use them again.
You get what you pay for. If you want cheap-ish furniture that is decent quality I would just go with IKEA to be honest.0 -
I agree. Customer service is fine, but items I've bought from them always arrived damaged. In the end, I found it's not worth the hassle.0

I've bought twice from Wayfair, both times there were delivery problems - first time delivery dates were all over the place, second time delivery note with driver was for something other than what we'd ordered that turned out to be what we'd ordered! I'd think twice about ordering again.0

We purchased four metal kitchen island stools from Wayfair in 2013/14 (to replace wooden stools bought from another online supplier which fell apart after a few months) - they arrived well packaged and on time and are still in as new condition. They were fairly expensive but not excessively so - however if it had been sofas or something costing several thousands I think we would have preferred to see in real life before making a decision.......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Yup
Ordered £800 of bedroom furniture.
1st delivery they delivered 3 grey units (all good) and one cream and damaged.
Rebooked collection. Redelivered 10 days later again delivered a cream unit. I refused the collection.
3rd time they delivered the correct one.
They use an external delivery company who don't deliver past the front door and won't wait for it all to be checked properly for damage.
Absolute nightmare. That said the furniture I have is good quality and it looks good.
Family member bought a unit for shoes. It was delivered assembled and broke within a week.0 -
I'd been searching for ages for a narrow shoe chest (looks like a chest of drawers except the 'drawers' open at an angle) but they were all cheap laminate and 'build it yourself' instead of the solid wood I wanted.
Finally found exactly what I wanted from Wayfair. Only problem I had was with my credit card - as I had never ordered anything from the Irish Republic before, they suspected credit card fraud, cancelled the payment and froze my card. Twice.
All eventually sorted, and the shoe storage unit is good quality and exactly what I wanted !0 -
I've bought twice from them. They seem OK themselves, but the delivery company they use is terrible - tried to deliver when I'd explicitly told them I'd be out.For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

I think in terms of packaging a big part of the issue is that companies like Wayfair just warehouse the items and sell them on - the manufacturers actually package them and they get delivered to the warehouses ok because they're palatalised or handled by cargo carriers.
By the time they get shunted through standard carriers to the customer the packaging round big heavy items is entirely inadequate. I had the same thing with a similar company and a desk. Again I got a free replacement which was mostly undamaged and gave the other one away.
I have ordered from both Made.com and Ikea and in both cases furniture packaging was adequate to protect items in transit.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Yes. Really pleased with what I ordered. Everything that came was in great condition and easy enough to assemble. I was really chuffed at how quick everything came - furniture was at a similar price to ikea but a lot faster and cheaper delivery! I got 2 floor lamps, a TV table and a nest of tables. They look great - exactly like the pics. I've got to admit I wasn't expecting much, but I'd order from them again for sure.
I went for the lamps first, a small order - and when that worked out I got the rest.0
