Boiler has no pressure and not filling up

Hi,

I've just moved into a new house and I don't have any hot water. I think it just needs repressurising but I'm not having much luck.

The boiler is a Vokera compact 28.

I've tried turning the black valve (I think it's called the release valve) but no water seems to be coming through. This should fill the pipe so I can then slowly fill up the boiler with the other valve but I can't even get to that stage.

Any advice?

RE-PRESSURING THE SYSTEM
The system will need re-pressurising if the red
LED is illuminated. Locate the filling valve and if
necessary connect the loop (fig. 3) slowly open
the valve until you hear the water entering the
appliance. The red LED will go out first. Go on
with re-pressuring until the pressure shown on
the manometer is between 1 & 1.5 bar (fig. 4). The
appliance must not be operated until the system
has been re-pressurised. If in doubt contact your
installer.

Figure 8 suggests there are two 'control valves'. These are basically valves or taps that you have to open in order to fill the boiler. You would need to be sure that both are open in order to let the water enter it. I have a Vokera boiler as well (although not the same model as you) and this is what I have to do to fill mine

You need to have both valves open at the same time: the tiny volume of water held in the filling loop is not nearly enough to repressurise the boiler.
If it fails to hold pressure, then you have either a leak on the CH circuit, a faulty PRV, or a faulty EV.
