Doesn't wax removal typically entail something being painfully ripped off? How appropriate...

If WaxOnWaxOff is a reference to The Karate Kid, then it's car polishing wax that Mr Miyagi gets Daniel-son to put on with one hand and then off with the other to teach him the Kagite Uke circle block move.

(And that is of course the 1984 version of the film, and I refuse to acknowledge any lesser remakes).
(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)

Apologies if this will blow your mind but the new 2018 series "Cobra Kai" featuring Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence revisiting old rivalries 30 years later, is actually very good. A hearty dose of nostalgia for any fans of the originals.

I have received some information and it looks genuine but I am unsure whether it is a bond or an isa. I am expecting a phone call to discuss further - I have a lot of questions!

    How would you know?

For example, does their literature verify their FCA authorisations? (has to be on the letterhead footer)
Have you independently verified those FCA authorisations are real? (I cant find them on the FCA register
under companies house number of postcode search using the address from their website)

but I am unsure whether it is a bond or an isa.

    or both.

Frankly it's not even worth the conversation with them as you might get suckered in.

If they could provide that return they wouldn't need you as a customer.

Bear in mind that if it's a scam then all the answers will reassure you. Good scammers don't give the game away by giving truthful answers that will put you off. What questions do you have that aren't covered on their website?

Are you a high net worth individual as stated on their site?

That website doesn't mention any details of financial bonds, what part are you looking at?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Maybe I'm an old cynic, but I don't trust an organisation which doesn't put the full names of its main officers on its website, just James, Adeela and Jay. Nor one which writes flimflam (where did I dig that up from:o) like this

    https://aspectleads.com/digital-strategy-review/

but whose most up to date 'news' is 12 June:cool:

Ok, I don't, but am definitely an old cynic and I'll admit I have time on my hands:p

    This one
    https://www.myclubgroup.com/about

doesn't even show the friendly sounding first names of any of its main officers

however, its director is a busy man
    https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10902138/officers

presumably aiming to live up to his name;)

Hi. There is a post in Facebook offering a 3yr fixed rate isa with Astute. I've spoke to a chap who says it is '100% Asset backed for investor capital protection'. Is this also a scam please?

Not necessarily a scam as such but certainly not capital protected in the generally accepted (FCA) sense of the term, see another recent thread at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5966659/isa-investment-with-astute

https://www.astutecapital.co.uk/isa-account/ does highlight reasonably prominently that "Returns are based on current available rates and are not guaranteed. Your capital is at risk." so if you do feel tempted then make sure you do more due diligence than talking to someone based on a Facebook advert.

Or you can do as most on here will and run fast in the opposite direction!

If you've contacted this mob by phone then chances are that your number will now be being propagated around a variety of suckers lists, so expect to receive some 'enticing' calls about fantastic investment opportunities that are too good to miss, but only if you act quickly, yada, yada....

Classic scam terminology being used - avoid.
