I don't think it is a good idea to tell them who the driver is - unless you particularly want to drop the driver in it.
The keeper has a better chance of defending this - should it ever get to court - but look again at the links kindly provided by Umkomaas to see the likelihood of that happening.0 -
tlel them you were not the driver, and that the picture clearly shows that a parent and child WERE using the space
I owuldnt tell them who the driver is
As for finding your current address? Well thats caled TRACE and is trivial. If you have a mobile phone contract, utilities etc you can easily be found.0 -
Right so after months of letters form debt collectors I now have a letter from Gladstone Solictors who appear to specialise in parking fines.
The letter states that there client has the option to send the matter to a civil court. Do I relply to this letter or just pay the fine?0 -
What fine?
Why are you considering paying it?
Tell us more about this letter.
Who does it suggest you pay?
Does it give you thirty days to respond?
Are there forms enclosed with it?
In summary, is it a compliant Letter of Claim?0 -
What fine? You don't have one.
They do not 'specialise in parking fines'. They are connected to the PPCs (in each others' pockets) and the letter may well be from the debt collector. Who does it ask you to pay?
As you've been here since October, I hope you've read the NEWBIES thread (2nd post is all about pre-court letters from the likes of Gladstones, and how to defend & win if they start a court claim - no biggie, no risk).
NPE are getting Gs to send some court claims now, but their signs & evidence are pants and we beat Gladstones claims 99% of the time. So can you.
And if you search the forum for the word Gladstones you will be reading threads for a month of Sundays.
And search the forum for NPE Earlham and read all about the place.
No-one here would be daft enough to PAY NPE for a fake PCN from the well known scam site at Earlham. No paying it, come on you are an MSEer on the forum that beats these scams and helps you along the way.
Read the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread, if that letter is not asking you to pay DRP, as you need to know what to do if it's a LBC.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry I’ve not replied been so busy.
Here is what the letter states.
It is our clients case that you are liable for these charges and we would like to draw to your attention that our client has to recover these from you.
Our client now has the option to commence proceedings in the appropriate civil court.this right exists for a period of 6 years from the date of the parking charge although it is our clients preference to resolve this matter as soon as possible. A claim wold result in an increase in the amount sought in terms of statory costs and court fees.
Please now contact our clients agent, debt recovery plus ltd to discuss a payment proposal or make a payment online.
If you do not pay within the next 14 days, please keep our client and their agents (drp) updated as your current address to ensure that your ability to defend any such action is protected as any court judgment or decree can have a serious effect on a persons credit rating, bla bla bla!0 -

They're just using Gladstones letterhead. All a well trodden path of the scam. Ignore it.
It doesn't mean this won't eventually get to court proceedings being issued against you - but you're not at this stage now. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

We didn't need to see anything about any debt letters. All covered in the NEWBIES thread post #4. Really unimportant stage, and a time to be researching and getting ready for a claim.
Have you done the searches I suggested, and realised the scam this is, and seen what to expect from Gladstones when a claim is filed?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
