Afternoon - and still it's raining.

No post arrived so I rang the local delivery office, the mail has not yet arrived with them from Glasgow as it can't get through. Surely Wells Fargo could have helped? :rotfl::rotfl:

My day has been quiet. Spoke to a couple of panicking students on the phone; sent an email or three and set the woodburner ready for lighting. It's not cold enough to light it even though the weather outside is foul.

I rewatched a brilliant programme about the Ness of Brodgar in Orkney on iPlayer. That place is fascinating, stone henghes from way before Stonehenge and evidence that the Ness was the capital of Neolithic life, knocking Avbury and Stonehenge down the charts. Neil Oliver has taken over the 'windswept and interesting' look from Billy Connolly - too many shots of his hair blowing in the wind as he looks pensively out to sea or over the site of the Ness. :rotfl:

OL - I wish your son all the best in his new start, hope it turns out well for him.

-taff - hope all's well for you too.

nannywidow - I gave up ironing completely about 10 years ago - life is much sweeter now.

Speky - over in the house selling and renting board GM has written excellent guides to renting, think there's one for Scotland too. Check out his one for England and Wales for the responsiblities of any landlord you rent from.

Cup of tea time and then I have to prep for tomorrows class.
  • This afternoon I racked our blackberry wine and had a little taste and it’s not too bad, but I think it might be lethal when it is done as the hydrometer says it still has a way to go! I didn’t get any cleaning or baking done but I did list three more things for sale and I found an egg free recipe I want to try - sort of a jammy crumble bar. Dinner is nearly ready, refried beans and nachos, and then I am off out to a society I’m in.

Writing and running I’m afraid - will catch up reading everyone’s posts when I get home as a before bed treat.

More, or less, goes for me too ;). I've not TOTALLY given it up, but everything is dried as flat as possible and hung onto coat-hangers with some things - like nighties / cami tops - getting folded and put straight into drawers. The very few items that need ironing, only get done as I'm ready to wear them - no intention of doing 'em twice :rotfl:.
  • Tidied up the kitchen before bed so feeling virtuous. Put the chutney away. Wine is doing its thing in the bedroom, it can sit there for a few months.

I hope everyone gets a good nights sleep. Night night.
