Good morning everyone, RR so maddening about the damage to your car. Commiserations to Nelski on the night/room from hell, I hope you are given a much better one. I sleep blissfully wherever I go, one of the few upsides of lifelong hearing loss
. It would have to be a problem with heat or a lumpy bed to make me unhappy.
Spekky, I recommend looking and asking around for a good property management company. I'll pm you with more thoughts and info. Glad it worked out amicably with TGFW. You'd been upfront from the start that a move was likely.
Camelot, I'll be joining you in swimming this morning as my friend I was going to meet has a cold she doesn't want to share around, so we're not meeting up after all. I'll see her soon, but was quite delighted to be able to fit in a dip on a day that seemed to preclude it. The osteopath appointment is much later in the day so I've got more time to spare even after the swim.
I hope AOD's and Cranky's colds settle soon. Hugs to all poorlies. Taff, I admire your spirit and humour in the midst of the pile of life poo you're dealing with. Thanks for the update, TA, I hope you and Bob had a quiet night. Glad to hear, Csarina that your DB is coping better.
Well, I'm about to disappoint the cat and get up! Yes, Simon's Cat is so funny and I've had many a chuckle watching the cartoons on u tube. My wee pal keeps me very happy, when she's not using me as a trampoline.
I hope you have the best day possible, everyone. xxx0 -
well done on making the choice Speky, it could be the start of a new life for you and its not too far from Glasgow Us english are quite harmless you know and Manchester is an amazing city. Fingers crossed for your Granny tomorrow I do wish her and you well.
This morning didn't start off to well I went to put my glasses on and the screw fell out of the lens and pinged away to infinity never to be found so I have to pop to Boots to get them fixed I found an old pair to wear until I get my proper ones mended good job I hadn't decluttered them from the drawer
DGS Ben is popping in later as he is going to see DDs director as he will give him some interviewing techniques and help him to tweak up his CV a bit .He is a smashing chap who likes to give youngsters a bit of a hand to help get them into employment. Ben is a bit down at the moment as with no job and him and his g/f's romance had run its course it feels like everything is going wrong.
I may take him out to lunch to cheer him up a bit
Bit brighter today with the forecast being warm and sunny which is a nice bonus.
Anyone see the Stacy Dooley documentary last night about fashion, quite an eye opener, glad I am not into buying that many clothes God know how many clothes end up in landfill !!!
Nelski nothing worse than a bad nights sleep, more prosecco or gin is required:):)
Right time to get a wriggle on
<<hugs>> to those in need and fingers crossed for Holly and much love 'n'light to Mr&Mrs TA and family
Love 'n' stuff

Nelski - I once had a hotel room right next to an overground train track so I sympathise. Hope you get your room change.
Scarlet Ribbons That sounds like a fun balanced day to me!
Camelot and redruby Drive safe
Nmlc sorry you Are having such a horrible time at work.
Silver oldie have a lovely coffee / people watch
Taff Good luck at the hospital
Cranky get well soon
Lainey good luck at the doctors
Ancientofdays have a great day
Speky That’s quite some stuff you’ve got going on in your life at the mo. Wishing your gran smooth sailing for her operation.
Quiet sunny morning here. Hedgepuss seems his normal sleepy hungry self. He was a stray for nearly a year so he has taken some time to adjust to living indoors. He is obsessed with food and quite demanding, but he uses his litter tray and is very gentlemanly And I have completely fallen for him.
Mr Hedgesparrow finished making his chutney last night and I have a craving for something sweet so might bake. Which I never do! We don’t have any eggs though so I’ll have to be creative. List some more things for sale and clean the bathroom today I think.Grocery Challenge £114.22/ £1100 -
Good Morning, Oldstylers :hello:.
Nelski - thank you for starting the thread for today and so sorry to hear about your lousy night's sleep. Hopefully, they'll sort something out for tonight - I remember being put 'next to the lift and a firedoor' in one place, so can really sympathise with you . Your day can only get better from here on in!
Scarlet Ribbons - Oh dear - you too! Fingers crossed for you both for tonight
.
camelot1001 - drive carefully and enjoy your swim today. Love having my hair cut - always makes me feel 10lbs lighter!
nmlc - What a lousy time in work for you all at the moment - hope Management get it sorted soon. Good Luck at Slimming Club for tonight :j.
redruby - hope you've managed to speak to whoever owns the car park - especially if it's one where you've got to pay. If they want our money, they should provide 'some kind of service' regarding security on the site.
silver-oldie - enjoy your day, whatever you end up doing. Good Luck with 'the chat' with DS and DiL. I don't know what you need to 'chat about', but I'm sure you'll choose your words very carefully. We had a very tense situation a few years back with one of my DiL's which caused an awful atmosphere between my DS and myself - they didn't visit for almost a year. Now, I just take a deep breath and let 'what she says' go right over my head - I can see my DS squirming sometimes, so I KNOW that he's aware of how she can be
.
-taff - prayers for your appointment at the hospital this morning. Hope your kimchi works out well. Enjoy your sewing project
.
Cranky40 - Hope your cold 'takes the hint' soon - the three hot toddies sound good!
LaineyT - Hope your appointment at the docs goes well. My own knee was playing me up yesterday - think I just walked a bit too far without my crutch. That'll teach me a lesson to take it with me in future - not ready for 'unsupported wobbling' just yet
.
ancientofdays - have a good day.
Speky - Wow you've got a lot on the go at the moment, haven't you :j. Hope you can get it all to run smoothly. Thinking about your Grandma and her surgery tomorrow.
WeeMidgie - There's got to be some hidden blessing to having 'hearing problems'. Enjoy your swim and hope your cat didn't protest too much at having to be 'shifted' from its comfortable position on the bed
.
JackieO - hope all goes well for Ben - sounds as though he could do with a 'big boost' at the moment. I'm sure that lunch with Nan will go down very well indeed. Always works with my Nathan :j.
hedgesparrow - hope you can find 'something' to bake without eggsand good luck with your Ebaying
. HM chutney sounds good - my youngest DSis does a beautiful Caramelised Onion Relish .
Thinking about all who are poorlie - especially TA's and HH. ((((Healing Hugs)))) for all who need one.
I'm almost ashamed to say that I slept right through last night - but a very quick [STRIKE]dash[/STRIKE] 'hobble' to the loo was needed at 6.00am . Got back in bed and woke again at 8.00 :T.
No plans for this morning, but I've got OT's coming this afternoon to check out my garden - hopefully I'll have some news on that front later. I'm hoping for a path along the side of my washing line with about three steps and handrail to access it .................. whether or not it happens, is another matter altogether . If this doesn't work out, I may have to consider going into a bungalow, or a ground-floor flat :undecided.0 -
Morning chums
Sorry to hear that there are lots struggling to sleep I hope you all have a better night tonight or find 10 mins to have a nap
Nelski I feel your pain with the snorer DH is like a warthog so i often decamp to the girls room i have been known to threaten with violence if he doesn't stop

Have a great day whatever you are up toSlava Ukraini0 -
Another one here who couldn't sleep - I saw 3am. Part of it was that I was hungry but was trying not to eat, in the end I got up and had toast, I should have done it earlier!
Cranky, that would be nice, I don't know when we'll be up next though.
Speky, well done on the job front and I hope your gran has a successful op tomorrow.
Jackie, I remember it well, it took Chris six months to get a job after he graduated. He's very quiet on first meeting (and often can't be bothered to fight to be heard if you know him well). He hasn't looked back though and has been promoted umpteen times in the ten years he's been working.
Ziggy is going home today, we'll miss her a lot, she's a complete joy (although I could do without pulling 50 sticky burrs out of her coat like I did yesterday) and no doubt she'll be here again before too long.
Then I need to do a quick tidy round and prepare to go to Yorkshire. We'll be dropping the camper van off en-route to have some niggles sorted out. Steve's best friend and his wife will be coming to stay for a couple of days so I hope we have good weather then. I also want a day in York to shop for Christmas.0 -
Morning folks.
The deluge continues here. The A83 has been closed on the Rest and Be Thankful because of a mud slip, the 'short' diversion deep in the Glen can't be opened because of flooding and the 'long' diversion is closed because of a RTC. Ferries are dodgy because of the weather. We are marooned!
I have no need to go out today so will hunker down.
Speky - you're certainly on a sort of rollercoaster with lots of ups and downs. My thoughts are with your Gran.
There are so many of you lurking around my thoughts, luckily I have enough to go round. I hope everyone keeps safe of not well.
Happy soggy Tuesday.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, Nelski.....Holly and the TA's special hugs.
After a frantic day yesterday today is a bit quieter. OH has gone out to the garden to strip the tomato plants his carer makes chutney, so she is going to get a bag full of green tomato's. You will not believe we had a strawberry from the garden yesterday!!
Cleaner starting this morning, so I have had a quick tidy round. I really should get into a clearing clutter mindset.......I have made more room in the kitchen cupboards, stuff has gone onto the cupboard in the hall. I have also broken out some new cleaning cloths..........
Specky I hope all goes well with the stents for your grandmother.
It might be a good idea to talk to a couple of estate agents about letting your flat, it seems a shame to sell it and if the worst come to the worst you will have somewhere to go back to.
Supper tonight, mince and tatties, I have veg to use up, there is also a banana languishing in the fruit bowl.0 -
Speky I will think positive thoughts for your gran.
For advice on letting your flat, you will find good guidance on the houses selling and renting board here, there are links to guides which tell you about your responsibilities and things like choosing a letting agent. It is mostly England and Wales but you'll be able to check out any differences.
I'm fed up of being ibdoors with sniffing, s*d this for a game of soldiers, I'm better than I was and am going out.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Hello all
I too had a disturbed night. Was woken at 3.30 by Mr Fix It lying on his back doing his best Darth Vader impersonation . Led there for an hour then got up and went downstairs for a cup of tea, swiftly followed by himself wondering why I was up ! In fairness he was suffering with blocked ears yesterday. I hope he hasn't caught anything from the hospital on Friday ! So many people in one room with goodness knows what etc.
I did get back to sleep about 6 and woke up at 10am. So will have to play catch up with my day.
I have decided that today I shall attack Mt Ironmore although at the moment it looks more like the leaning tower of Pisa......... I daren't put anymore on the pile for fear of it toppling to the floor .
I shall pace myself with a break every half hour and listen to the radio. I hate ironing !!!!! When I finish it I have promised myself a catch up of the new episode of the walking dead which we recorded last night :j. I hope this series is better than the last one, I wasn't impressed.
Mr Fix It is cleaning the kitchen tops and filling the DW, he's a keeper
Later this afternoon I want to make a cottage pie with a cheesy thatch, for tea.
Nelski I hope I didn't put the kybosh on your nights sleep.
Speky I hope your Gran gets her op and recovers well.
TA always in my thoughts.
Holly hang on in there my friend.
I'm procrastinating now so I shall send many hugs to all. I'm off to do the dreaded ironing, serves me right for letting the pile get so high . May have another coffee first, just to start my engine so to speak :rotfl:.
Take care all
love nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0
