Had fibre with BT...now with Utility Warehouse and can't get it?

Bit of background information:
The previous occupiers of our house had fibre with OpenReach.
Just rang U.W. to upgrade to fibre as sick of our flaky broadband connection and was told that our address can't have fibre?
Genuinely confused.
How does this work?
A check on the BT webpage shows we're good for FTTP...but does this mean ONLY with BT??
Thanks

Pretty much BT is the only cheaper option for your house at them moment if you have FTTP0

Or UW don't offer that fibre product.

Did the last owner have fibre to the house ?? worth checking as FTTP is still relativly new .0

There are several companies offering services over FTTP but none of the cheap ones have shown an interest. So prices are more expensive.
A partial list of suppliers can be found here https://www.homeandbusiness.openreach.co.uk/fibre-broadband/ultrafast-broadband/ultrafast-fibre-buy-it-now
And there are 2 other ISPs not listed there.

If the previous occupant had FTTP ( fibre to the premises ) then UW probably have mislead you, it's not you cannot have 'fibre', it UW don't sell OR/FTTP , other do, ( BT for one)
There are only a few ISP's that offer service over Openreach FTTP, and those that do are not at the cheap end of the market, they tend to be premium providers and charge accordingly.
If there was FTTP previously, then there should be FTTP kit installed somewhere in the property0
