OH has just had the same tyre puncture for the second time in six days on his van. Most recent puncture, tonight, was brand new good quality tyre fitted 6 days ago.We live in town with granite kerbs and not much parking space and he is always tucking himself into very small space and has scuffed his wheel rims up quite badly. Could this be causing the punctures?

What was identified as the cause for the first puncture? Where was it on the tyre?

Could be just bad luck. if it was kerb damaged, it would be fairly obvious to see. If the wheels are really bad, it could be a hairline crack in the wheel or it not sealing properly

It could just be bad luck.

I've had two punctures whilst driving in the last twenty or so years, one was to the front passenger tyre, not quite sure what caused it, we replaced it and two days later got another one on the same tyre when we went over a little bit of metal in the road (on a different route to the previous one) and once again ended up having to change the tyre in the wet.

Annoyed would be a good description of my mood as I took it into the garage.
After that I added disposable builders gloves and a gardeners kneeling mat to the car emergency kit - I've never had to use them since (although at least if it happens again my knees won't protest as much, and my trousers should stay dryer/cleaner).

you should be able to determine the cause by where it is on the tyre and wether a foreign object is there or not

OH took it into local large Kwik Fit which was 50 yards away and left it with them as he had an urgent meeting .He collected just before they closed for the day and says they did not have discussion about cause or where the damage was. He just collected it with new tyre and paperwork. He said it is definitely a new tyre.

Earlier this year we went away for short break in my car. Came out next day after arrival to find front near side tyre completely flat. (Car had been parked overnight in private drive and in quiet rural area.) Called out breakdown service to change for spare: Call out service could not see any puncture or other cause. Then I drove to local tyre specialist for new spare . Asked them to look for cause of puncture. They went all over flat tyre and still could not find any sign of puncture or other cause. Remains a mystery.

I'd get a local independent to identify if it's actually the tyre that's punctured. It could be a cracked rim or bad seal or which is letting the air out, and KF have just replaced the tyre without checking (or replacing the valve).

Jk0. First puncture was outside our house where it had been parked for several days, unused. Went out and found it flat. Bin men had just been down road and as usual, left mess behind. OH said there were some sharp bits of broken plastic nearby and in gutter and he assumed that was cause but thinking back he had not driven it since before that. He cleared plastic away. Yesterday he was dropping off a friend. Turned van round and as he drove off realised had flat tyre on same wheel as before. Nothing on road at friends. Now wondering if wheel rim is at fault.

Nobody can say what the issue until you've identified the cause of the puncture. It could be a faulty or badly installed valve on the new tyre or simply very bad luck.
