Selling car previously stolen and recovered

Hi I have two questions I’m hoping someone can help me with.
My house was burgaled and car was stolen. It was going two weeks later before the insurance write off claim went through. It was damaged. Insurance decided to pay for repairs. They supposedly sent my documents back to me via recorded delivery (I’d sent them a load of stuff when it was stolen so they could process a write off) - they never got to me. Six weeks later after nagging they finally admitted (in writing) that they’d lost the lot. Gave me money to replace the v5c and £50 for the inconvenience.
Several months later I go to px the car. First issue - car supermarket say as it’s stolen they’ll give me half the price. Even though recovered and fixed with no total loss. Is that right? I didn’t think it would show on hpi?
Second issue - they say as original service docs list that also depletes the value of my car. Even though they have an electronic record (I bought it from them) and I took photos of all the docs before I posted them to ins co. Photos no good apparently. Is that right? If so do I have grounds to go back to insurance company and advise that their loss of my documents has depleted the car value so I’d like them to compensate?
Thoroughly cheesed off. Considering I’m the victim of crime I feel I’ve been treated like total sh*t.

*should say it was FOUND two weeks later (autocorrect!)0

Yes, it would show as stolen and recovered.0

Car supermarket will try and get the value of the px as low as possible by any means possible to make you pay out more towards your new car. Most people won’t be bothered about it being stolen/recovered if it’s a low value car, stick it on auto trader and you will get more for it than the trade in. How much are they offering as px?0

I thought it only showed on hpi if total loss? Or never recovered?0

They originally gave me a figure but when they found out it was stolen they said the value will be lower but they’d need to run HPI Check today and call me. Said it could drop by 50%. And due to not having the original service stamps they said that’s no service history so makes value less again. The fact I have photos of the service stamps and it’s all logged on the car supermarket system is irrelevant apparently. Waiting on their call now but not sure how much of what they are telling me is legit0

So I bought car jan 2017 for 14k second hand 2012 s max one previous owner. They offered me 8800 taking into account it had had plates changed and bump fixed. I didn’t mention at the time that that was anything to do with it being stolen.0

Why not just run a HPI check yourself, then you'll know one way or the other.
So what do you think your car is actually worth? Might be worth checking webuyanycar to get the trade value as well as looking on autotrader to see what similar cars are going for.0 -
Yeah maybe I should - I can do that online can’t I? What is it about £10? I don’t trust the car place so better to check myself.
The 8800 they offered me is a reasonable price, I did a bit of research on that before I went. I’d happily take that, this car is a constant reminder of being burgled so I’d happily take that, or less, but 50% less doesn’t sound right considering it’s all fixed.0 -

As I understand it, the SMax has a bit of a following and is pretty uncommon. It might be worth trying to sell privately?0
