HI,
I'm looking for some advice, I've received a Charge Notice from CP Plus based in Barnet for car parking at Annandale Water Motorway Services in Scotland demanding £100 (reducing to £60 if I pay in 14 days) for an over run of the 2 hours.
The Newbies Forum says do not pay in Scotland/NI, what recommendations does any one have?

  • the info about scotland is only if the incident happened in scotland and you LIVE in scotland , do you reside in scotland?
  • No I live in England, but have work commitments in Scotland
  • as your registered address iis in england , the parking Co can rely on POFa
  • I thought that would be the case, thanks for your response.
I take it you’d advise challenging this?

Send the blue template appeal from the NEWBIES thread.

Send it without change - no additions or alterations necessary.

    Send it as the keeper.
  • Thanks Keith, much appreciated.

I agree, even though it's Scotland. The reason is, CP Plus cancel when they see the template so you may as well use it to nip it in the bud!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

  • Thanks everyone for the advice, Email on the way tomorrow!

No, No, No and No again.

The location of the car park i.e. Scotland sets the law. Not where the driver lives. This one will die a death.

If an English driver was speeding on the M74 (Scotland) would his local police prosecute him?

NO I disagree , unlike your CRIMINAL case you quote , the offence would be tried in your LOCAL county court , not the court in the jurisdiction of the offence

the OP lives in england , therefor the offence is between an english company and the OP that lives in england
