As I've decorated my house I've installed either British General or LAP sockets in brushed steel or nickel (nickel looks better to me, and is installed downstairs!). I suspect they drop off the production line. MK is good, but really only for a sparky. Once installed the end user can't really tell the difference.
  • I’ve been replacing some in our new house with BG brushed steel ones, but only because I am having more sockets added and I want them to match on a room by room basis. So I’ve changed over one whole room and now have the old ones to use elsewhere. I wouldn’t bother to change them in a house I was planning to sell.

No Electrician would ever entertain using LAP.
