:j just rang bt and told her out right that i'd just agreed to a 18 month with them and i'd heard they where now giving a laptop away and would i be able to have one if i said i'd stay now for 3 yrs...NOPE!!
they said if you only had a month left you'd be offered one to stay or if you where just updating now but not like i was already tied to them...and the best bit she knew i couldnt do anything cos if i said i'd leave they have me in a contract for 18mths but i dont want to leave bt anyway cos it's way better than aol that i left 3 months ago!!!
but if you are up for contract renew ask about it they do have them and they are giving them away and there way better that aol(CRASH!!)0 -
well according to the web ad? its not for new customers its not for staff and its not for people in a contract so who is it for then???????
Its for BT users that are now 'out' of contract, ie people who have been with BT for awhile.
It's quite nice to see a company offering incentives foe existing customers for a change, instead of just to new.
I got this deal a while back, at least a month, and I got the HP notebook, it was discon on their site, the Acer is a discon also (on the Dabs site, which is who the supplier is)0 -
not that nice that others offer the same to everyone whereas BT offer it was they are trapped in a corner.
Broadband costs £5 a month these days. Available at least for those at the larger exhanges.(80% or so of the population._Moneysaving Expert do not reply to requests regarding deleting membership.

just renewed mycontract with bt told them was offered laptop from aol, saving £12 a month with free NEW home hub (seemingly) free hub phone also bt vision for free. Had to sign up for three years but cant get aol anyway due to problems with the exchange, happy with service wasnt going anywhere else and seems like a good deal laptop will come in handy0

hi all, thanks 4 the info.
tried to get a laptop from bt as only signed for broadband a few day ago so can still cancel as the bb service has not yet been provided and i did not know about this offer.
well to cut a long story short ive rang 7 or 8 times today to diffrent departments and they all say the same thing 'this offer is only open to existing bb customers with 2 months or less remaining on contract.
no matter how hard i tried they wont budge.
Any ideas what i can do would be greatly appricated.0 -
I was giving this number 08081002425 and eventually managed to get the laptop. Hope it helps. Anyone recieved theirs or a confirmation e-mail of dispatch?~ Looking for the light at the end of the tunnel ~0

just phoned BT and they say the offer is no longer available as it was a scheme they were trying out but, it was very popular and they will run something similar in the future.
no laptop for me then0 -
Had an email today saying it has been depatched and any questions to be made to dabs.com. This is the one i think:

Hi all
If any one is interested the offer is back on again. I just rang them for my MAC code and they said they have just started the offer again and have offered me the Acer Ex 4220.
I know the offer has had some slack but imo BT broadband is the best quality by far, 2 years with 0 outages or slowdowns. It's like anything in life you pay for what you get.
Also I have done some research as I felt the 528mb memory may be a bit low and to upgrade to 1gb bill only cost about £16 for the extra 528mb memory whick I believe will just slot into place under the battery. It is also then at a comparable level to the AOL offer apart from the slightly smaller screen (and it's not a dell!) :-)0 -
oh well,i am only 7 months into a 18 month contract, so i take it i have no chance of getting this then, sent them an email anyway, as the saying goes "you dont get if you dont ask".Take every day as it comes!!0
