Well done Asda

I popped into my local Asda today for a few groceries. I got everything I wanted, so paid at the self service tills. I bought 3 x red peppers @ 50p each, and they scanned at 55p each. So, I finished scanning the other items, paid and then double checked the price.
I went over to customer services and politely explained. The lady was very helpful and reimbursed me 15p. I said "thanks very much" and she said, "do you want a gift card".
She then gave me a £2 gift voucher to use the next time I shop there.
Apparently they now do this for any customer who is overcharged.
I call that excellent, friendly service.

It's been there policy to do that for a very long time.0 -
That's decent of them. I was overcharged in M &S yesterday. Just got the overcharge part back and a sorry, did think their policy would be better than Asda,s.0

Tesco do (or at least used to) refund double the difference of an overcharge. But I guess that can be exploited by people who latch on to a price error, so the ASDA solution seems reasonable to all parties.0

The £2 gift card has been policy for a number of years, but as mentioned above some staff need reminding, others have never been informed.
There is also a different gift card policy at A for out of date products.
Tesco DTD is stll valid, it's on their customer charter.0
