Claim Forms

I recently received claim forms through the post in relation to a private parking ticket issued over 2 years ago. I know that I have to respond to the forms and read another forum that said to start a new thread to find out how to appeal. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yes you do have to respond if your going to defend against this scammer and the newbies section tells you exactly how and what to do.
You can keep to this thread as your already at claim stage.
We need to know timeline and more details
Who is PPC?
What does NTD/NTK say?
What are the dates involved?
Who is the claim form from and does it have POC on it?
Do they give you 14 days or 30 days to respond?0 -

You are too late too for appeals
Read up on court claims in the newbies faq thread near the top of the forum
Don't respond to any forms till you have read up on court process in #2 in the FAQ
First job after the that is to follow the walk through there on submitting the AOS
That gives you an extra 14 days for preparing and submitting your defence0 -

If you submit an AOS (within the 14 days) that extends the time allowed from 14 to 28 days0 -
You only ever get 14 days from date of service to respond to a claim (never 30!)
If you submit an AOS (within the 14 days) that extends the time allowed from 14 to 28 days
Cheers Quentin, yes I realised that when I read it back, reckon I still need to carry on reading the newbies section myself for at least another 6 months:D0 -
Let me guess, PAS or PPS, with BW Legal? Or another scammer?
Please just search the forum for all the other threads the same as yours by searching for the solicitor and the word defence.
And read the NEWBIES thread first - more thoroughly, please.
I wrote post #2 of that thread to stop threads like this, we cannot help from scratch, we need people to have at least read the advice and done the AOS, and drafted a defence (all easier than you think, and explained in the NEWBIES thread).
YES it tells you to ''start a new thread'' - but it tells you a LOT more than that and so you should be half way there by now, AOS done, etc.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for your responses. Yes you are right the PPC is BW Legal Services Limited representing Parking Awareness Services. Does it matter than in the 2 years I have not responded to any of the numerous 'invoices'?0
-
No, your case is the same as all the others! Loads of people ignore these scams.
Do the search BW Legal PAS and also read (thoroughly) post #2 of the NEWBIES thread for what to do, and come back telling us you've done the Acknowledgement of Service.
Then we will help further, when we see a decent draft defence to discuss.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What is the Date of Issue on your Claim Form? 27th September?0
-
Yes the 27th0
-
With a Claim Issue Date of 27th September, you have until Tuesday 16th October to do the Acknowledgement of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it. To do the AoS, follow the guidance offered in a Dropbox link from post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.
Having done the AoS, you then have until 4pm on Tuesday 30th October 2018 to file your Defence.
That's nearly four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a top class Defence.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as described here:
1) Print your Defence.
2) Sign it and date it.
3) Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
4) Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
5) Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
6) Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defended". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
7) Wait for your Directions Questionnaire and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES thread to find out exactly what to do with it.0
