Autoglass for side window replacement?

If you're on a budget, I'd recommend buying a secondhand glass and getting a friendly garage or bodyshop to fit.
Some scrote smashed the side window on my Cayenne and I sourced a replacement for £40 and got it fitted for another £40.0 -
Not in defence of them, vacuuming the car weekly, you would still find bits of glass months later.
No, absolutely right. Shards of toughened glass get everywhere but I'd have hoped that anything immediately visible would have been dealt with. However, that is really an aside from my main point which was that the replacement was carried out well and the window has worked fine since.0 -
Thanks all.0

Get a few quotes from different places. Autoglass quoted me £170 more than Auto Windscreens for a rear side Peugeot 207 window.0

a decent bodyshop is what you need rather than a dealer0

Check to see if your insurances covers ALL glass some only cover windscreens.0

As an aside. In movies & tv dramas, car thieves of the smash and drive off variety always smash the drivers side window. How stupid is that or is there some kind of joy in rubbing your backside on broken glass that I don't really need to know about?0
