SKY New Customer or Keep Loyalty

Hello
We are in a bit of a funny situation in that we are moving house, but due to delays with onward purchase are bunking in with my mum and dad for approximately 4 months.
Currently a sky TV, phone and broadband subscriber - contacted sky to cancel subscription but was told I would be better to 'downgrade' membership to maintain loyalty rather than starting again in new property.
They gave me some options for a new deal which obviously I will weigh up but just wondered if anyone knew, in principle, whether I am in a better bargaining position as a potential new customer or on longstanding one thinking about cancelling?!

Given the recent posts in https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5480644/sky-tv-retention-deals-post-your-haggling-successes&page=104 I'd say keep it going but then again you have to weigh 4 months of paying for something that you won't use against the new customer offers. Is the "downgrade" they mention on a rolling monthly contract or does it tie you in?0
